Hey Dan, I just checked the weather for Globe for tomorrow. Not bad , not great. They will have cloud cover all day, hi temp between 50 and 65 degrees with a 20% chance of measurable rain. It's going to be a cool ride all day. If we see rain near Superior perhaps we could leave Hiway 60 and head south to Kearney and Winkleman. Dress warm.

YOu bet John. I like the way you're thinking.. If it's raining in the AM, cancel everything.. Rain in these cars is bad enough when it's warm..

Dan, you are approaching the relibility of Mikiec. I'm going to have to wear a watch whenever I meet up with you, not to mention carrying a list of all of the letters of the alphabet.

It was originally 9:00. In order to allow our friends from the south to stop on thier way north for coffee, we adjusted it to 10:00. I will be at the station between 9:15 and 9:30 in order to hook up with anyone who shows up for the 9:00 time. We will leave Idaho Rd. between 10:15 and 10:20 to meet the guys from Tucson at Florence Junction about 10:45. We will all proceed together from there. If anyone wrecks on the FWY, you're on your own. I'm not stopping!!! So don't wreck... Now, I hope everyone see's the crap that Mikie goes through everytime he schedules one of these shindigs. It can be a bear. See ya'll in the morning.

Well, as it turns out, there was a death in a family, a couple of crashed cars, an exploded battery, and only one car that made the journey today. The day was warm and beautiful and the traffic was light. Lunch was delicious.. Too bad not anyone else could get away.

I was talking with John at Florence Junction and he related that tales of Woe to me about all of the things that stopped the guys from Tucson who had agreed to show up. Among the stories was a brother who passed the day before, a Cobra driven into the gravel and lost. Another driven over a concrete stump in a parking lot and Mark, "AZFordman" stopped in Florence for coffee, noticed a strange smell and opened the trunk to find the caps blown off of his battery. Later, I found out that his battery exploded before he got all the way to his home. So it was just a single Red Cobra that made the journey into Globe. Had a great lunch with Adrianna's sister and her husband, then drove home. It turned out to be a beautiful day. Didn't even need coats coming home.

I did try to make it....and I was really looking forward to this drive! The weather was beautiful, had to take of my jacket driving home, it was that nice. At least my car got me back home, guess that's what's important. Looks like I may have to replace the alternator and a month old battery all because of a $15 voltage regulator!
