Been there twice asking but, no response. I would assume it is cancelled.

And...what kind of 12 gauge did Santa bring? Mossberg? Remington? Tactical? The AA-12? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p4ebtj1jR7c

Very nice of Santa,
I read a couple of blogs and reviews to catch up on this Toy so I could at least know some of it's details. Got me thinking about my standard sights but for me adding the ghost rings is not a must do thing but agree a worthy upgrade.

Because a shotgun used for home defense has a rifle like pattern I am second guessing the use of 3 inch mag rounds. I have checked the pattern of my current loads at 5 and 10 yards and would like to open them up a little. A shot pattern at 15 feet is about 6 maybe 8 inches and I would be thrilled to obtain double that, like 16 to 20 inched works for me. I have deer slugs and pistols that make small entrance holes. What can you do to get a 15 inch pattern at say 5 to 8 yards without shortening the barrel to illegal lengths? We can discuss more Tuesday night at the Diner too.

A Blunderbuss should work. I'll bring the new toy with me Tuesday.

I think this is the answer http://www.polywad.com/spredr.html but the blunderbuss is also a good idea. While you are there take a look at the Polywad's Quik-Shok Sabot Slugs they sell. They toss a 1 1/8 ounce slug down range and it is designed to frag onto 3 pieces. That is more lead weight than is on any one of my tires! I'll look forward to checking out your new Toy Tuesday evening.

Question

Hey guys,
I was given a Savage 12 gauge pump shot gun, 69RXL series E. It takes 2 3/4 and 3 inch shells. It has a short barrel, and it's used by some police dept's. Would this shot gun be affective at all for skeet or trap shooting ?

Jeff,

I will not be bringing it tonight. Seems this shotgun does not like to be racked slow. I have a double jam to take care of first. Live and learn. It's been a long time since I owned one.

Mike
Is it new? May just need to be shot or at least rack the slide alot to wear off the rough edges.

Dave,

Brand new. I had it loaded and decided to unload and it jammed. Looking on the web I found this can be a problem, with this shotgun, if one is not firm when racking the slide. I need to dissemble to clear the double jam.

Scotty, normally skeet or trap shooting needs a long barrel (24+inches). Short barrels are for home defense, police or just destroying stuff.

What Bob said.
Guess you could try but you better be REAL quick on the trigger.

Thanks Bob,that figures. I'll need to find a more suitable shotgun. And Dave, Sandi says I'm quick, just not on the trigger.
