My 2c.
Pulley alignment is the major issue.
Aftermarket kits are bad in design, who says the components are in the correct order?
Logic says to "pull" on the components with the most horsepower loss first. Obviously tensioner last before returning to the crank.
Aluminium pulleys are worse at gripping than steel.
And another big issue is the belt cannot bottom out on its "V"s.
I pointed this out to Holden engineers with the VE Power steering pulley issue, took them a while to understand.
The belt drives on the "V" flanks only.
