Tough Lions in Arizona
I don't know much about these photos, and this probably isn't the right venue for them, but this is one tough cat. I thought they would be worth sharing.

The cat looks mad; I guess I’d be mad too if my paws were fill of spines!
1 tough cat, I don’t think he’s playing with a full deck, if you know what I mean.

Now that sounds like fun. Dogs chase cat and you pop it off while it looks at you. What is wrong with us? They should only let you hunt illegal’s or cats with clubs and bats. Now that would be interesting. mano to mano/cato........wonder who would win??

That was my guess - no big cat is going to climb a cactus by choice. Even if it got down its days were numbered. The thorns in the paws and belly were not going to be pulled out by a friendly mouse.

The kitty is a truly magnificent critter. I have mixed feelings but understand why a rancher loosing several head of cattle might feel different. These cats don't run in the same area as cattle as a rule but the buffet would be trouble.

Years ago, I read Roping Lions in the Grand Canyon by Zane Grey.
A true tale of his running down mountain Lions with dogs then going after them with nothing but a lasso when they were treed or cornered. The guy had moxie!

Every year around here several people are killed by mountain lions. I think there were several in Rocky Mountain Park a couple of years ago. One was a child that I don't think was ever found. When in the wild humans have to remember they are part of the food chain.

Back in grade skool I saw a film where a pack of javelinas chased a cougar up a saguaro.

Pre-video movie reels Karl. One step up from those stone tablets that you used.
