Exclamation Don't make me laugh

I am going to have double hernia surgery on Monday. Two weeks ago, when I got undressed I looked down and saw a bulge in my groin area. Thought this can't be good and pushed it back in. Saw the DR the next AM, took her 30 seconds to say "you need a surgeon". Been pushing my intestines back in several times a day.

Hope all goes well and Monday comes and GOES fast.
Personally, I'd love to look down and see a bulge anywhere near my groin...

Y...Just get an elastic ACE bandage and wrap it tightly around any protruding bulges. Don't laugh, don't cough, don't sneeze.

My dad had that too. One day a young boy came to his front door selling raffle tickets for his baseball team. The kid took one look at my dad and blurted out, "Are you gonna have a baby?"

My dad laughed about that one for many years...

Good luck with your surgery.

Good luck.

Good luck Bill. I had that surgery too. It's a must do. Was a bit sore for a while afterward. Maybe you could take a few days off from work? Ask Marilyn.

I know that no one will believe this, but it's true. When I was 4 I leaned my toy rifle, barrel down, against a chair. While in my PJ's I climbed up the side of the chair to get into it. I slipped and while falling down the hook shaped hammer snagged my scrotum and ripped it off. At the hospital the doctor sewed it back on with out any anesthesia. Several people held me down. I fought so hard that I ruptured my abdomen muscles and caused a double hernia. Had to be admitted to have it repaired. Great memories!

Good luck tomorrow and take time to heal properly.

I went through the same surgery 18 months ago. After fighting with the discomfort for nearly 25 years, as I'm terrified of hospitals, I had the surgery done. I look back now and wonder what I was so afraid of? Super smooth surgery but a long recovery for me as it had gotten so severe. I understand that if you do the arthroscopic(sp) you'll be up and running in a couple days. Good luck with the surgery.

Y, if you're not interested in the ACE bandage cure, some good duct tape, RTV, and Supe Glue will cure about anything.

Thankfully that surgery is a whole lot easier than it used to be. I believe it's all done laporoscopically (through a little hole). I had it done in 1966 when I was in fifth grade. They did the big incisions back then. You discover that wiggling your pinky finger involves use of the abdominal muscles with the old procedure.

So does that mean with the use of a procedure called and I love this word LAPOROSCOPICALLY y'all get to wiggle other things without the use of abdominal muscles, but still use the pinky finger for effect? tin-man

Thumbs down I got big balls!

They swelled to almost the size of a soft ball and are very tender. Surgery went well, not much more pain that I have from the MS. I had to go to the ER last night..couldn't pee. Every thing Bob B said about catheters is true.

Glad you're doing well. Or something reasonably resembling well. I'd make a big balls joke, but that would make you laugh and you asked that we not do that..
