Eastbumscrew Caravan to Wickenburg

Meet at the same Chevron about 7:45-8:00? Dan, Mike B, and I. Anyone else?

Robert McLinden 10-03-2011 12:45 PM

Which Chevron is the same "Chevron"?

dave from mesa 10-03-2011 01:24 PM

What is that Rucker and McKellips?

Karl Bebout 10-03-2011 02:09 PM

Might be RECKER and McKellips.

Wickenburg -- I have not been there since 1988-89 - be careful of the 45mph speed trap.

dave from mesa 10-03-2011 03:29 PM

Steve
There and Wickiup. Cop always stops in to visit when we stop at the gas station there.

Danr55 10-03-2011 05:13 PM

Recker and McDowell, not McKellips.. Are we going to have a Grumpy along this time?

dave from mesa 10-03-2011 05:22 PM

Hi Dan, seems I've been away too long, what's a Grumpy, somebody in particular, do tell? Cheers, John, AKA, tin-man

dave from mesa 10-03-2011 07:16 PM

Tinner
See post #2

Robert McLinden 10-03-2011 08:39 PM

Dan,

I certainly hope so. Last time I tried to start my car it wouldn't fire so I quess I had better take a look when I get a chance, or I could take the yellow volkswagen, we did some intake work on it in the early summer. See you guys on the 21st.

Danr55 10-04-2011 09:20 AM

Bob, We look forward to it. You are correct. You've been away too long. See you then.

Tinner, A "Grumpy" is a cantankerous old codger from the east coast with a sense of humor that would dry out the desert. All in all, a joy to be around.

Dan, awesome, thanks for the explanation, seems I am going to enjoy bandying words with Grumpy being a cantankerous "young" codger meselfs, hailing from Cor Blimey which is decidedly east cost. Brit humor has a tendency to be slightly dry too, y'know. BTW where does John Tucson hail from, I could not detect any sense of humor in his 1300+ posts, but get the sense he too is a cantankerous owd codger. Seems like an altogether decent chap but has an tendency to be slightly acerbic in his posts. These types of guys are a challenge for me in that I enjoy breaking thru the walls they have built over time to get to see what they are really like deep inside. I have found out most of these guys are the salt of the earth when you really get to know them. Am I right? Cheers, John, AKA, tin-man

Danr55 10-04-2011 09:33 PM

John is called Tucson John, because he is from Tucson. Well, Catalina actually which is almost Tucson. Acerbic, John? I guess his pH is a little on the negative side, but he is still OK....??? Well, most of the time, anyway. John is best known for his collection of clecos and for his wife's cooking. Oh, and for his iron butt.

Scotchman 10-09-2011 07:58 AM

Sad to say, I'm gonna miss another trip to Laughlin. Both of my folks are having serious health issues. Dan, save some of that scotch for the next overnighter, and don't get too far sideways during your burnouts**)

Danr55 10-10-2011 09:27 PM

Darn Scotty. I guess the Gods don't intend for for you to make a Laughlin trip. As for the scotch,,,not a chance.

Scotchman 10-11-2011 11:04 AM

That's OK. Just remember to have the scotch AFTER the burnouts !**)**)**)

Danr55 10-11-2011 12:26 PM

You bet and thanks for the advice. If you want to try some really good scotch, come by sometime after I get back. I've found some spectacular stuff here.

Danr55 10-18-2011 02:16 PM

May I suggest that we leave the Chevron about 7:30 and go to the station at Carefree HWY and I 17. Leave there around 8:40 to put us in Wickenburg around 9:30 so we can use the facilities and relax a little before the long trek? It also give me time to take some pictures of folks as they arrive. What say ye?
