Default Cobra 1st Start

Well we got it running today. Not tuned but running well. Not bad for not running for 2 yrs. Happiness all round.

Woo Hoo! Fire in da Hole! Had the distributor one tooth off, of course, so there were a few firey explosions but fortunately, I'd left the air cleaner on so I didn't get my face burned off. Little adjustment, twist, twist, crank, crank, and whoopee! Big Noise. Liked it so well that maybe I'll just run it with the shorty, block hugger headers...not! Mike, Dave, Hector, and I all breathed a sigh of relief when the brute fired up. It has been since 02/19/09 since there's been that sweet sweet sound. I B one happy geezer!

We had to do some testing to determine why there was no spark. The coil, coil wire and power to the MSD box proved good but after following the on line diagonostic steps, we determined the box was bad. The Digital 6 Plus box that I'd bought off craigslist was crap. (its on the way to MSD for rehab) Fortunately, I still had my original 6AL and 'volia, we had spark. The above mentioned distributor adjustments made the old
wh0re come to life.

Got a quick response from MSD, but it was not what I wanted to hear. They returned the 6 Digital Plus, with the note that it was either too expensive to fix or that the needed parts were not available. RATS! Sorta explains why I got it so "reasonable" on craigs list. I'm sure the schmuck that sold me the piece-o-crap got a good laugh out of screwing me. Oh well. Have my old 6AL installed and will do just fine with it.

Mikie could always take the dude out with his Henry as practice for the shoot out, it won't get yer money back but I'm guessing it would provide you with immense satisfaction. It would also prove that Mikie can hit something else besides a barn door. Just kiddin' folks I am a peace lovin' guy at heart but carry an AK-47 as back-up, just in case.

Karl, never mind I just clicked on the picture and got the video with sound, that's one awesome sounding engine, [for a Chebby] really smooth. I also liked the flame visuals it cerainly added high drama to the clip.

Really, you guys have done well, my compliments.

Rick, afraid that NAFs are few and far between, it seems. Heard that Jack Kube died so there won't be any more except for maybe the bodies he had laying around in the weeds. Jack certainly did me no favors when I bought my replacement body from him so I won't be missing him.
