Run To The Pines Car Show

Got back about 7pm Sunday from Car Show in Pine-Top. Had about 550 of the greatest autos I have every seen in one place. Many cagegories, many trophies/placques. Only 2 Cobras. Mine in pre-1973 American Sports Cars and Steve Kraxberger with a black/gold stripe NAF/427 side oiler/top loader 4spd in 67-73 Muscle Cars. Steve's cobra was chosen for the Car Quest Trophy a 4 poster about 3 feet high you need 2 people to carry! By the way, his wife, Karen, showed her Jag XKE Coupe too. I stole a placque from the old Corvettes. We visited with Neal Jackson and his wife telling us about his "build from scratch" of a Cheetah, even the body! Boy, has he got too much free time! Jack and Barbara Hammond drove up for moral support. They are long time participants and winners.
Great weather, great drive. Chuck Hart (who tried to pay for everything) joined me up the Beeline and back via Camp Verde. Got 17mpg! Spent Friday night at Barbaque at Honda Casino, only lost a couple of saw bucks in those one-way machines.
Next is the Laughlin Trip Oct 12 - 14th.
