Who knows - If the BJ auctioneers are persuaded to take a positive shine to the car and really hype it up as a whizbang techno-Cobra instead of ushering it through unceremoniously as a fake, the numbers could surprise us all.
FYI - the car is at Barrett simply as a display...the car is NOT being put across the auction block.

I see... and that means further discussion about Tin Man's car is really not relevant to the topic of this thread. Thanks for the clarification.

I'm sure attending the event live must be a lot of fun and infinitely better than the TV coverage, which is just dreadful. Even with DVR the amount and length of commercials is staggering, and way to much of the coverage was the SPEED commentators blithering, they must believe THEY are the show, not the auction itself. And then they go back to the crap about how these cars are coming back as good investments..........its a hobby you dillweeds!!!! They seemed to cover Camaros, Mustangs, Chevelles, Corvettes, tri-fives and everything else we've seen a thousand times before, and very little else. Where's the unique and unusual? Oh yah, that segment was used for the many many NASCAR promotional segments (aaargh....). I for one am through either recording or watching any BJ event anymore. It just isn't interesting or entertaining.

Its better in person, the weather is great, the cars are cool, the food is awesome, and there are so many beutiful women, of course they follow money, on tv you have to keep the remote close to chage back and forth, it can be quite long.

It's embarrassing to watch Justin Bell brought down to the level of booth babe.

Sad indeed...Matt Stone is the most annoying, pontificating phony...cars are not "pieces" ....that term is reserved for other things... I tried to buy a car from them, and Steve Davis kept trying to tell me what I wanted...that guy is a jerk.....well, that is my rant for the day...sorry

I was there a lot. Justin Bell looked like he was having fun everywhere he went. Especially around pretty girls. What a character! Great show addition. I also love the stage duo and Rick DeBruel. Car knowledge abounds there.
I recorded the entire Speed broadcast so I can speed through all the ads.

Trent, my youngest son, was on the stage last night when CSX 4347 was sold for $125,000. Said it was too crowded and noisey. I could have told him that.

Does anyone know if that was a "new" csx on mso or previously owned? That is the highest I have seen a csx go for in the last 2 years at an auction. Last year I believe 1 or 2 sold at the auctions in the 80's.

Its from Jimmy Richardsons collection, previously owned. It seems, guys like this. with lots of quality cars in the auction always gets a little more than the normal guy.

I am with you and the even more irritating "Born with..." they are machines and thus cannot be born... More? Tribute, re-creation , continuation etc , you mean fake? I went to all the auctions and the Gooding was really great and the RM was even better. B-J is like a cattle auction with bouncers, I never go when the auction is on , only to look at the cars on Monday.

BTW anyone who pays more than $45K for a used SPF needs some remedial I.Q. training... and anyone who has a glass CSX is on the same plane when a metal Kirkham is cheaper and just as "authentic" , see re-creation above...

Default Hey guys, if an FFR Cobra can sell for $66K, anything is possible.

Calm down boys and girls, unless you can build these toys yourself you are going to pay more than 30,000 if these cars have more than a chip monk for an engine and a frame made out of square metal. Cheer up, we like our cars and I like the feeling of some good welding, metal, extra pretty stuff under my ass without having to put some mickey mouse name on it and think it is worth a lot more.

If I was going to do it again, I would get a backdraft with that slick Lemans hardtop and an automatic so wifey can drive it when I had a few too many red wines. I am tired of my leg slipping off the excelerator and her head head hitting the dash handle. The dash handles are expensive.

Besides us old guys with big guts can use that extra 1-2".

If I had any sense I would have never got the car and paid off old bills. (that is what she said)..... and I wouldn't take a penny under 65. .....................I think

Speaking of motors........
