April 28, Huntington Beach
The largest FFR car event on the West Coast will be held on the Pier at Huntington Beach Saturday, April 28. The show is open to all MFG's NOT just FFR. Go to FFR for more details and registration. It is a one day show at this point but there may be some other things planned. A group of us are leaving here at 9am on Friday and staying on the beach at a nice hotel and returning saturday after the show (4pm). It's a great show with lots to do around the pier. Come join us for a cruise, show and a lookie loo at the crowd and shopping.

I would love to attend, and have in the past, but this economy has put a crimp into my long distance driving.
You guys have fun.

No matter what brand roadster/coupe you might have, this is really a fun event. It is unbelievable how many onlookers there are and where else can you hang with such a great group of enthusiasts?

Huntington Beach Trip
Used to live about 1500 yards up Golden West in Beachwalk...15 years. I look for any excuse to return to HB. It was paradise for me. Will be at the AHA show in Pomona two weeks before and will try hard to go to the FFR event also.

We have a plan. Any body going we will depart from Dysart and I-10 at 9am. We may go through San Diego and up or west through Banning and Riverside. But we will leave from Dysart and I-10 at 9am. ETA HB is 3pm.

HB Trip
Danny...I think Mike said about 3-4 cars. I mentioned to take the southern route thru SAN on I8 and I5 to HB, but we'll see. I hate going thru Riverside and Pomona! Why don't you come along? See 'ya,,

I've been promising Adriana a weekend away. This just might do it. We'll see.

If you guys go through San Diego and then north on the 5 freeway, then I can probably get a few more cars to caravan north with you.

San Diego route sounds good!
What do you think Mike? Southern route is less boring, more scenic and a more direct route to HTB. We might get a few more cars also...

OK, let's go the southern route through San Diego. For you SD guys what would be a good location to meet? Give me a telephone contact and I will call when we are getting close to town.

There's a park and ride at the Hiway 5 freeway and La Costa avenue off ramp in Carlsbad. We can meet you there around 7:00 AM on Saturday morning and we'll take you the scenic coastal route (hiway 1) north through Laguna Beach, Newport Beach and then into Huntington Beach. should be able to pickup a gaggle of cars on the way up. If not, the drive along the beach is worth it.
What time are you guys leaving arizona? O dark thirty?
I guess i should have read the whole thread. You guys are coming in on Friday. If so, friday traffic is horrendous. At 3pm, youll be stuck for hours trying to go north on the 5. Either get through here by noon, or take another route. Youll be hating life if you get caught. Saturday morning is a piece of cake however.
A word of advice. If you have car covers and room to bring them, do so. At that time of year, you can expect anything from morning drizzle and fog to sunny and dry. Not even the weatherman knows for sure.

Southern route to HB
Jim...good point on the Friday traffic. We should meet earlier than 0900 don't you think? Maybe 0700 at Dysart/ I-10? We have time to decide...No hurry.

Bill, To get there by 1200 you'll have to leave here about 0530. That's pretty early.

Dan, you are right. I think 0700 is good enough. Remember this is the day before the show so no real hurry...I think. The wife doesn't come in to SNA until 1500 on Saturday. Reserved room at the HB Inn across the street from the pier. Will you and Adriana be coming? I'll be at 83rd and Union Hills this afternoon. See 'ya.
