I've had these for 10 years and 28000 miles, on the track and on the street. They seem fine. Just make sure whatever you get is the correct length.
My original ones for the Jag rear were about an inch too short and gave some bizarre handling quirks on the track.
The stroke needs to be about centered when the car is at its normal ride height and needs to be long enough that the shocks don't bottom out nor reach their max length before the suspension says "whoa."
I have the single adjustable ones that you can set the rebound stiffness, and they seem satisfactory to me.
