Hello Arizona!!!
Hey just posting my first thread on this site. Im on the FFR site alot. My story is that i was the luckywinner of the FFR MlV roadster and should be droping my engine in about 2 months or less. I will be moving to arizona around June time frame and want to get to know everyone in my area. Im at Fort Polk, Louisiana and the army has finally let me out of this place...lol. Looking forward to Fort Huachuca and the nice weather. Let me know if you live in the area, would love to get together once me and my family make it out that way. Nice to meet you all.

Welcome to Arizona David! Transfering to Ft Huachuca will put you closest to Tucson. I'll send a link to this thread so John can contact you and get you on the email list.
Looking forward to having you meet the gang. Watch out for those Phoenix guys though.
(Some of them have tails)
Larry

Hi David, Welcome to southern Arizona. Fort Huachuca is right at an hours drive to the southeast of Tucson. You'll be right next to the Mexican border, however, there are some rather tall mountains a mile souith of the Fort. Get you lungs ready for a change, Sierra Vista, the town outside the Fort's east gate is at 4,200' elevation. It is a "car guy" town, lots of old cars and two large shows a year. At that elevation you can drive the Cobra all year long, some snow in the winter and some rain in the summer. Generally nice. Please continue this thread in the Arizona page. That way you'll be able to find out what is going on state wide. John

Hi Dave...This Bill with the Arizona (PHX) Club. Please understand that those southern (Tucson) guys lie a lot. We do not have tails...we have forked tails! You will be welcome in Phx at any time. Out schedule is busy too with many events and cars shows to enjoy. Contact Mike Canning (our psuedo president) mikiec66@cox.net when you get into the area.
By the way, I remember my days at North Fort before 'Nam got hot. I was 303rd ASA Bn, Crypto when I left in '64. Army separated me there instead of Huachuca. Still remember my "girls" in Leesville. Made some good money back then, but that's another story.
See you soon. Bill B

Fort Polk, did that one in 1970. In the long run, once you get use to the vast difference between the two states, I think you'll really it, except for the Tucson snakes they can be bit pesky to have around.

Registration isn't too bad in AZ. When it comes time to register your car, we'll tell you the best place to go is. You just have to find someone who knows what they're doing at DMV.

Santor, Welcome.. there are a few Cobra guys in the west valley. Not that I would personally be in a hurry to meet up with them, but you might try wandering into the parking lot at 83rd ave. and Lake Pleasant Parkway some Saturday evening after about 1700 hrs. You'll usually find them sitting around and talking about whoever isn't there...or whoever is there, and laughing loudly.... (As you can see, sarcasm is the word of the day.) They are a great bunch of guys (mostly) but you have to protect yourself. Enjoy.

Hey, I resemble that. We talked a lot about Dan tonight. Chris, you can also find us every Tuesday night at the 5 N Diner next to McDonalds on the South West Corner of 75th Ave and Bell about 5pm to 8pm.

Welcome to AZ. You can track your car at Firebird Raceway during many of the NASA events. Contact Gordon Levy ((a vendor on some sites) he is at the track more than any of us. I was on Phoenix International Raceway a few times. Recently I drove a Rusty Wallace NASCAR for 20 hot laps. That was fun. You will arrive in AZ at the hottest time of the year, summer. Our weather now until May is great for crusin.
