Any fool can do that. The Gmail address is one that I use for everything including my main address as Ron was already taken and I had to use Ray. I use Gmail for most of my contacts with people and companies that I don't know and that way if I start getting a lot of crap I just delete the account and make a new one. I also explained in the email that you obviously haven't read that your name had gotten deleted with about 15 others from the Ukraine, Vietnam, Russia and some others, but yours was by accident. I told you that if you would join again it would go right through. And I did approve a member from Arizona and within 5 minutes he had posted in every forum he could get to before I stopped him a whole long, copied post of spam and links to porn sites. My claim that others in your area had posted spam and crap is completely true. The so called curt email that you got asked you exactly what you said, to answer me and give me some information about yourself. You don't like me fine, don't take it out on the site as it is a good site with good people and we are trying to keep it that way. There is no fighting or any of that stuff there and the members joke around a lot.

Actually the BIOS went on my old computer and I just had a new one custom made with three hard drives, the "C" drive is a solid state one and the other two are for storage. A Military Class 2 Motherboard, top line graphics and sound cards, 8 gig RAM upgradable to 16 gig, Intel I7 4 core processor that runs at 3.6 meg but can be over driven to 6 meg which I won't do as I don't want to burn it out. Compared to this computer the old one was less than a Commodore 64. My first actual work on a computer was abut 45 years ago and they didn't even call it a computer. I worked at Bell Labs and we had some stuff that was years ahead of what they let out to the public and I am sure now they are even farther ahead. Technology is now measured in minutes and not months like it was back when I first started. But I struggle along the best I can.
Darn, it's hard to be stupid and try to sound intelligent.

Give it another shot. You'll find a smooth running forum with a bunch of guys with common interests and one frazzled administrator trying to keep it running smooth.

FWB,
That is a really nice computer that you have. I took the Windows 7 off of mine and put XP on for now as my other computers are running it and they are to old for 7. The reason I never went higher is I doubt if I will be around long enough to max this one out. And as you said, in a few weeks they are already outdated. I haven't had much chance to play with windows 8 but I am not sure I like it any more than 7.
I just looked at my computer and I was wrong. I do have 16 Gig of Ram and it is expandable to the 32 Gig. I also sprung for a 23" monitor as that was the largest that I could fit on my desk unless I take the top off. And monitors are cheap compared to the rest of the components. Now if I could just learn to type.

Ron,
I know of a nice Cray J90 sitting collecting dust you could have as the web server .
Of course you will have to have your own sub station installed to power it

Bill,
That would be great, especially since they just doubled our rates on everything. I saw in the last report that California now has the highest tax rates in the country and our utility bills are among the top. I used less electricity, 243 KWH last month than I did before and it cost me $ 12.82 cents more. The water rates went up by 18% with another 18% increase due in 6 months. Garbage rates are now $20 and the sewer is $56.74. And of course the meter reading charges went up and they haven't read them for over a year as they do it via computer from the electrical department.
On the other hand that would make a great server. And at least a conversation piece.
Did you ever sell the Cobra that you had up for sale?

Just think, when the Cray finally stops working (maybe not in our lifetime), you could use the case as a second garage space . Cobra wise, the Silver FIA is still for sale, awaiting someone who can appreciate how unique it is like I have. The Shelby fastback might be next on the block if the FIA does not sell by spring. Hate to see either of them go, but that is life.

Yea, I hated to sell my cobra worse than any other car I have ever owned and wish I had it back.
I saw my first new Boss 302 up close and for real yesterday and I really liked it. Don't know what they were asking for it as they had just unloaded it and let me look at it before they took it to do the prep work. You know, where they spray it with water and charge you $300 for prepping it. They also had a nice Shelby GT-500 there but it was solid black inside and out and in our hot Summers you would have to run the air conditioning all the time. They asked me if I wanted to take it for a drive but I was running late as usual and didn't have time. But to be honest, I really liked the Boss 302 the best between the two of them.

I never started the site. It was already going when I was asked to come over and be an Administrator and help get the Forums working right. I was working on two other Cobra sites at the time, one of which is no longer around. So far as I am aware there is no "Mission" as you put it. Just for anyone that wants to join and have fun like the rest of the sites.
But the site is not to compete with any other Cobra site nor to try and get their members. We just want to keep a clean site where people can have fun and enjoy the cars and all types of cars are welcome, not just Cobras. We have a great group from South Africa and they have some great Cobras down there.
