Damn, the're big
New sneakers on the car. Had to get 295/50/15's on the rear. Much bigger visually than the 265' s that were on there. Ginny said I had to leave the rubber on the tires. I told her I already tested them. I got the look.

What brand Mikie? Load a few photos, all I could find was some skinny buildings in your photo bucket.

Yes they are! It is a lot of meat. Here are Dunlop 295's on my car. Can I join you guys? I live in IL (unfortunately) but I grew up in AZ....graduated from Brophy Prep. We still have a place in North Scottsdale, but it is on the market. With a 1 year old and a 2 year old, we just do not get on the plane back to AZ very often.

No need for a plane... Drive the car down.
Just the usual BFG rocks. Take a pic? I would need to clean the car and get rid of it's patina.

A long time...graduated from Brophy in '88, and my family moved to Chicago the next day. I used to come back twice a year...moved back in '93 for awhile...bought our place in 2009 and were coming out frequently...kids in 2010/2011...
My wife is from Long Island and is not a huge fan of AZ. She has warmed up to a bit but not enough to move. I sure miss it. As soon as I walk out of Sky Harbor and take a big breath, it smells like home.

Wives can be replaced.
Let's see Long Island or here? I have cousins on Long Island, they would love to live here.

Mikie, with your tremendous HP, you might be able to chirp the new tires if you find a mud puddle first.

My sister still lives on Long Island (I hope everyone knows how to correctly pronounce that), been there her entire life. Me, I left for college (PSU, when it was still safe to take a shower) and never went back to the Island. Still difficult for me to just visit.

The grille splitter and overriders look great. The whole car looks great!
Is that Viking blue?
I wonder if a grille splitter would fit/work on my Backdraft.

Thank you! I am not sure about the grill splitter on a Backdraft. Maybe something can be fabricated/fit. The fellow I bought it from is a vintage racer and car collector. It took him about 7 years to complete, and he wanted it as accurate as possible. I still cannot believe he sold it! You guys are really making me jealous...I miss "home" so much. It is about 25 degrees right now. The car will not come out of hibernation until maybe March.
It's Guardsman Blue. There are a few variations of it, but this is the true Shelby color from the 60's.
Here it is at a local show...the picture was posted on a website. It is tough to see the true color in a picture.
Back to the thread and tires...who do you feel makes the most authentic looking vintage tire?

Karl,
Let's see a bunch of HP and multiple off road excursions. The last one resulting in not being able to drive in over 3 years. Small HP and over 63,000 miles driven and counting.
Now get back to work. We have a run coming up in a week.

I can't blame my crash n burn on my car or its HP. That was totally my fault. I am SO anxious to get back on the road. My ride with Hector gave me a nice taste of power but it lacked my additional 150 cu in and its mind blurring feel of my eye balls bouncing off the inside of my skull. Its a brute and about as subtle as a Louisville Slugger up long side yo head.
I'm smiling just thinking about it.

I think the Goodyear Billboards look vintage but they do have their drawbacks when driving.

Keith...I do not think I would do the billboard/paint/stencil on a Street car, but the tire looks GREAT in terms of overall "real"/vintage look. Where is a good source for them?
Are they biased and therefore follow the road? I am used to that with my '66 Mustang
Cave Creek? I ate at El Encanto when we were in town for my birthday...good food and nice altmosphere.
