Default December Run is Done

'Bout 9 Cobras, two Panteras, one Italia roadster-no less, one Lotus, one rowdy 'vette met at the gas station on Idaho this morning and made a nice run to Superior, Winkleman, Globe and back. Had decent food at Maria's in Winkleman, even though Danr's directions were a tad faulty. Nobody bothered to show from Tucson, but Ralphie finally made it after his roundabout course from Maricopa. Don't think there were any breakdowns or good driver citations this time. Beautiful sunshine, clear skies, nice cars, good company, nice scenery, twisty-curvy-up-and-down driving. Hard to beat.

Everyone please take note that Karl got it right on this day, December 22 2012. It was a good ride. I'll post some photos later.

A few photos to make everyone who wasn't there jealous. It was a great ride.

Finally, the UNKNOWN PASSENGER. Who do you suppose that last photo could be?

The drive from Globe to Superior is one of the finest in the state. Absolutely beautiful. The green chilly burrito I had at Maria's was fantastic. A great day all around. You guys have a Happy Holiday !

It was a great run and my son, who drove his Vette, wants to thank you all for letting him to join us. Surprisingly, my brother showed up in his Pantera. The very best of the Holidays to you all.

Scotty,

You are right. I especially love the tunnel.

Scotty, Maria's green chile was excellent, especially with a few nice dollops of the habenero sauce. Really loosened up my sinuses.

Bill, your son's 'vette sure sounded raspy, must have had the trick exhaust cutouts. Dem Chevvvies just bark a lot different from a Ford.

Mikie, even Mister Conservative, Hector had the tunnel walls shakin'. Big fun!

Dan, from Maria's, you did tell me to head south on 77 then turn north on 79 up to Florence then west on 287, correct? I thought it was supposed to have been a shortcut? Didn't realize I got 34 miles from Tucson until I saw the road sign.
Not complaining as it was a beautiful run, just kinda lonely by myself.

Next time, bring Chuck if you're lonely! Besides, it was a lot shorter that way then it would have been had you followed everyone else. Quit complaining.
