Thanks Mike, almost spit coffee all over my keyboard!

It was a toss up between this show and hunting, but we just ended tree squirrel season. We are, however, in the midst of chukar and skunk season though, but I thought making an appearance at one of these events would allow me to get my membership card punched and hopefully continue to maintain my status as an associate member.

see ya

Will

I think the cryptic message means that we're leaving Loves Truck Stop at 0800 (thats 8:00 AM for you civilians and Democrats)

Got the top on today. It's been a few years and took a while to stretch out. We'll be there. The top is for Vicki who has been sick, that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Default Bill's last minute problems

Naturally, it's Murphy's Law. Just filled up with Shell Vpower and drove down to Gateway Chev to get Andrew and his Datona to come tomorrow. The engine proceeded to buck, cough, fart, backfire, etc while going thru the gears. Did it so bad it blew off two of my mesh filters on the road somewhere. Idles OK but bucks thru all the gears. Can't be the gas, maybe fuel pump. Feels like an electrical problem. Checked everything I could but no joy. Doesn't matter though, I will drive it tomorrow anyway. It's just plastic, right? See ya'll tomorrow morning with the Dunkin's. Bill B

Karl, I don't know. She's at her sisters in Morenci. I got up this morning and got ready to go and noticed it was 36 degrees outside so I quickly picked up the phone and called Gary and told him not to wait. I don't think there is a car show in the world worth driving an hour and a half in that kind of temp in an open car. Ya'll have fun. I'll probably be at Pavillions around 1:00 when it warms up.

Default Air Fair/Car Show Wrap up

We had about a dozen cobras attend. 8 gathered at the Love's stop to drive over and park together. Had 2 Daytonas there. Jeff C. arrived late and frozen. Tucson John cruised in after 10:30. Bill B broke his car but still brought donuts. We left his cobra sitting out in a field. Lots of old planes and related items. Public came out by the thousands. The Buckeye airport is just east of Palo Verde. It felt like Quartsite was near. This place is way out there. I didn't know people lived that far out.

AZ Bob still thawing out+

Default "Baby it's cold outside...

It was cold at 0600 too! After leaving Dunkin Donuts my car started to really buck, fart and backfire all the way to Buckeye. As I turned right to go up the gravel road to the show, It decided to quit running. It wouldn't restart of course. It backfired so hard one time it blew two of my stack filters off and I lost them forever. Left the car off the side of the road to rest. Grabbed the donuts and walked up to the show to assist in spotting our Cobras. Good turn out considering the weather. Nice sampling of vintage aircraft, cars and vendors. Around 1100 hrs I called a tow truck for the ride home ($150.00). Now for the testing to see if it really is the fuel pump (Granatelli in-tank). Can't hear it operating when key is on.
I promised Dunkin Donuts and I delivered to all! Will post when I find out what happened. Thx to all who attended. BB

Mister Bill, There's this new start up company, I think their name is AAA, that provides free towing after paying a reasonable yearly fee. Their standard plan covers only a 5 mile tow but the next step up gives 100 miles towing. Its paid for itself many times over, for me. You might want to look into them.

Karl, you only need that service if you run a Chevy in a Cobra! As in your own words, "...paid itself many times over, for me..."

Ralphie, I think Mister Bill might dispute needing AAA only with Chevy power. He said he had to pay $150 to take his Cobra out of the field. I've also had to use their service for my GMC truck (it had the audacity to have a flat tire with no spare) and the time it had a starter bolt break. Dang GM junk!

Karl, I'm just trying to be funny at your expense. I do have the towing endorsement on my policy, at 8 bucks a year per vehicle, there's nothing to talk about.

Ralphie, at your age you should know that cigars are not good to cure colds. Cigars are for stomach aches. Single malt and hot bath for colds...or is that hot blondes? I keep forgetting. Maybe both.. a blonde in the bath.
