I'm thinking the date code is in the DOT number and that Billboards are maybe not DOT certified for highway use. So, no number???

My Billboards have several numbers on them. I would think that Goodyear has to code them, especially as race tires, so they can keep track of production runs. One set of numbers are very small and near the rim bead. I will try to do some research and post if I can figure them out.
