Holley Ultra HP 950. Brent tells me it's very adjustable but essentially equal to the QuickFuel. He also mentioned it's well suited for a large-displacement engine. And it looks cool.

I find that their calibration on the fuel curve (we live at 4,500 ft) is much closer than any other carbs I have used. I also find there parts to be top notch and the people at AED to be very good to deal with.

Tom, thank you for recommendation. If I may ask, what are you guys at Kirkham running on the "typical" 482's in your Kirkham's.
BTW, the prices are quite comparable to the competition and reasonable for custom hand built carb.

I like Pro Systems. Patrick built a Holley for me that lowered my quarter mile ET over half a second. Great driveability from idling in parades to the Big Bend Open Road Race and quarter mile drags in between. Patrick is easy to work with and can communicate with the novice as well as the professional.
Nothing against the others, I have not used any one else for the Gobra.

You'd be hard pressed to find a better carb than a Pro Systems. Patrick will make one specifically for your car, given lots of engine, cam, gear, location information. They are not much more expensive than the "pro" Holley, off the shelf that you'll need to dial in and still not be as well calibrated. Greg, with the 10 sec. SPF turned me on to them and I, in turn, have a couple friends that got them and are very well satisfied.

Patrick is also an Awesome guy, he will help with any carb problem you have, even if he didn't sell you the carb...

You won't just get an off-the-shelf item, Brent can get the info from you regarding the engine and have a custom calibrated QF made up just for your specific equipment combination. I hear they are very adjustable...my 5.0HO runs nice with an Edelbrock, but I really want to get a QF from Brent when I do the H/C/I upgrade...might have to go with my current intake, though, as I am already rubbing the underside of the scoop with the nut that holds the filter top on.....
Cheers!

I don't really think it matters what brand carb you get, as long as a carb expert has massaged it a bit, and it's the right size, you will be fine, most carbs these days from the name brand companies use the same stuff...

Just google Pro Systems carbs and you'll find them. I had one built for me last year and what a big improvement over my 650 Holly double pumper. The Pro System is making about 780.

Another plus for ProSystems carbs.
Patrick made an 850 for my 427. Really woke up my engine. .

John Dickey, Charlie and Marvin are all quality guys to deal with and their products are all first class. I have experience with AED, and most of their line. And they do NOT 'all use the same stuff'. Modifications vary among all of them.
Having said that, my carbs were modified by two different guys over the course of 15 years that you never heard of. And they are killer carbs to this day.

Lol, who's parts does Pro Form Carbs use?, Is Quick Fuel a copy of a Holley? Top of the line carbs use the same stuff, per say, of course models are going to vary from carb to carb, but a Pro Form, Pro Systems, Holley Ultra Hp, Quick fuel, pretty much the same carb, all will be good with a tune...just get it from Blykins whatever you do...

Not all are created equal...but a custom carb will bring out the best aspects of pretty much any. With that being said, Quick Fuel won the 2012 carb shoot out, over Holley, AED, Braswell, you name it. However, we're talking about a few hp difference.

I use a holley 3310, 780CFM.
I use this one as I had two since the 80s and they are easy to find parts for, work on and set.
Just my $.02 worth.
