Entrance to the show is the normal Gate entrance to the old Firebird Raceway off of Maricopa Road. Exit #162 off of I-10.
Got my Babe up and running thanks to Jeff and Bruce (Car Nut). Jeff will be fine tuning on Saturday.
See you Sunday.

BobB, what, other than the obvious, was wrong with your car? See youse guys at the track today and tomorrow. Maybe Sunday, if I haven't had enough.

Fitz, if it were drag racing, I'd be all over it, but I'd feel really bad when some Miata smoked me on a road course. Will take the car out tomorrow for a nice ride. If nothing else, I can play street sweeper when I drive it through the pits.

1 plug wire, 1 plug, MSD box, timing, jets and carb adjustment. Nothing serious.
Replaced all ignition parts. Runs fine above 2500rpm. Jeff coming over tomorrow to fine tune the carb. Have an off idle stall.

Just heard about the event from Charlie at HRBD yesterday. Would it too late to sign up on site for the track to tomorrow? If possible is a helmet and suit required or just a helmet? Been swamped with work and have barely had time to drive this summer so anxious to get out and clear the pipes a bit

They were looking for more Cobras. I spinned out once and could not keep up with others as I haven't done this sort of thing in years. Had gas gage go out so have to guess on gas. It is a lot of fun. Getting too old for this sort of thing.... And added few more stone chips (no trailer queen here). They are racing on both old Firebird and entire Bondurant course. Nice
You guys are missing out running your cars. Like me you can just go through the paces and have fun for little $$ considering what you get.
I won't mention that I can hardly move this morning! Sore all over the body...........
My Bridgestone tires slide all over the place.

Awesome day today and I managed not to make too much of a fool of myself. First time on the track with my csx so I wasn't too fast but had a ball. Be back tomorrow for some more laps at 1030. Does anyone have pics or video from today?

Yep.....Bob back in his old demo Superformance 081. He sold it to Alan Lukehart who was a Ford Dealer in Dallas, Texas. I bought it from Alan and put the Paxton Supercharger on it and an bunch of other stuff. I had it for about 3 years and sold it around 2001 to Garth Brooks bus driver in Nashville. Lost track of it after that and saw it on Ebay earlier this year and heard he bought it back.

Sundays race was awesome the Mustang Boss 302 and the Corvette 427 traded 1st and 2nd spots all race. In the last turn with the cars neck and next the Corvette spun out leaving the Boss 302 the winner, very spirited driving. The sound of the cars put a huge smile on everyones face. It was fun to see Bob B rip that Vette down the track. Great day, and only $10 bucks, can't beat it...

Everything always grinds (it is my body and teeth rattling)
Notes for next time:
1. Listen to the ones that track their cars; thank you Gordon & Randy and coupe lady (yellow car)
2. Public thank you to Gordon for letting me borrow his suit and top hat plus checking car
3. Don't forget your driving gloves
4. Get different tires- Bridgestone's suck. Get track tires- huge advantage
5. Go faster
6. Car ran 180 temp all day except when I was backwards in the spins...
7. No idea how fast down strait? Just remembered that hard right onto Bondurant / spin#2
8. Spin number 1 was cool too = dummy ass- got off line too deep in turn
9. Cheap too $ only $350 for 3 days....wow- start saving for next year??
10. I guess the announcer commented about nice color of car (levy paint) had no #'s ...Ha!
Great fun
