October 31st.
This is for Thursday the 31st of October.
Will you please contact the Cobra Club and ask if they would be willing to support this Fall Carnival by displaying COBRAS on Thursday, October 31st from 9:00-11:00am? The carnival will be at Huger Mercy Living Center at 2345 W. Orangewood, Phoenix, Arizona 85021 Phone: 602-406-5600. Its located just east of the I17 between West Glendale and West Northern Avenues. Please note all vintage cars are welcome. St. Josephs Hospital and Medical Center and Barrow Neurological Institutes Huger Mercy Living Center Huger Mercy Living Center is planning its annual Fall Carnival and its looking for vintage cars to have at the event. The annual Fall Carnival gives Huger Residents and kindergarteners from Orangewood Elementary School an opportunity to enjoy a petting zoo, games, pumpkin patch and other activities. There is no entry fee. The cars would be an additional part of many of the fun things we have for our residents and the kindergarteners of Orangewood Elementary School (please see attached flyer). To be honest , the children are not usually interested but of course the adults and our senior adults are always interested. You would park on the grounds (grassy area or blacktop (whichever you prefer) near the Phoenix PD Police cruisers. Huger Mercy Living Center is a 48-bed assisted living community serving those whom are affected with Alzheimers Disease and other related dementias on a 5 acre campus in a park-like setting. All of our residents reside in cottages. We have 4 on campus. Each cottage has 12 residents that are all at the same cognitive and functional level. Huger is an activity-social based model of care. We believe that keeping a person with dementia engaged, will assist in lessening anxieties, confusion, fears and increase self-esteem. *************** |
I am free on Thursdays 9am to 11am. I can attend to represent.

I'm in as well assuming Carmen is finished. Do we need to register?
Thanks Dave |
My guess is you do not need to register.
I would love to be there but I'm working. Someday I'll retire. |
Christine & I plan to attend. Maybe in costume in preparation for another Halloween night of terrorizing and pillaging the trick 'r treaters in Gilbert.

Jeff Classic has also volunteered to attend with his Red Cobray-C3. That's 4 so far. I believe Mikie said a fellow member asked him to post this. Randy?
Here is a Mapquest location: MapQuest Maps - Driving Directions - Map Being Halloween Day, I would assume there will be some costumes and candy although we do not have to dress. When we get closer I will call the organizer with a car count. AZ Bob |
Just bringing this event up to the top since it would fall as next on list. Still got a week to think on it if anyone else wants to join us.
Since it falls on Halloween, I would imagine costumes would be acceptable and encouraged except Karl. AZ Bob |

I will attend if Carmen is complete. I will know more by weeks end and update.

October 31st
I will be able to attend also.
|
Bob,
Let us know if you want to meet somewhere outside the venue before 0900. |
Thanks Bill. We will meet in the north parking lot on Orangewood at 8:30am. Once we are all together we will be escorted to our parking place inside the gates on the grass. This is an Alzheimer facility and is thus on lock down at all times. No curbs to cross. I have talked to Virginia who is in charge and she is excited to see 6 cobras at once. Me, Jeff, Bill, Keith, Dale, Carmen? See you on Halloween at 8:30am. No fees. Just watch kids around hot pipes. AZ Bob |
I will be out on business travel most of next week. If I get back in time, you bet I'll be there.
|
Dan, this is an Alzheimer's facility. You sure you want to enter? We may all be confused with the residents and never allowed to leave. Specially Bill.
AZ Bob |
Bill? Bill who... who are you again? I don't think there's much danger of that. They wouldn't want to keep some of us!
|
I'm thinking that some of you are wanting to go to check out your futire home.
"There, but for the Grace of God, go I" |
I forgot, what were we talking about?
|
I am not going to make the event October 31. Work has summoned me!
Have fun and I hope to make an event soon! Cheers Dave |
What event?
Seriously though, Christine & I will not be able to participate. Sorry. |
So there will be just 4 of us. Jeff, Bill, Keith and myself. All nice cars.
See you Thursday 8:30am. AZ Bob |
