I emailed with Hunter, all the spots are filled for the track day. You can be put on a wait list.....
Dave |
Glad I confirmed my attendance already. Should be a fun day. Anybody coming from Tucson John???
|
Got a email from Hunter confirming what Dave said. Track day filled. Thanks for heads up Dave.
|
what time does this all kick off?
|
Hunter hasn't sent out a start time yet as far as I know. There's usually a drivers meeting in the morning and the track is rented for the whole day. I'll post a time once it's set.

Drivers meeting at 8am on the day of the event, dec 14. We will go until dark. Karl is going to pit for me so we will be coming down friday afternoon.
|
Saw your name on the list Mike but Hunter doesn't have your car listed. Are you driving your Cobra?
Larry |
are there any cobras going to this event?
|
Larry/Lucky….yes I will be driving my FFR cobra. Black with silver stripe, big white 96 on each door. We'll be arriving friday afternoon or early evening staying in Willcox. Arrive at the track 7:30am sat morning for driver's meeting at 8am. Lucky…I'll bring an extra helmut and maybe you can take a few laps with me???
|
Joe M from Tucson is scheduled to be there with his red SPF. So there 'll be a couple for sure.
Larry |
Looks like the weather will be cooperating, near 70 is forecast. What time will Lucky Winner arrive? :)

Had a good track day at Inde! Weather was great although a little cold when the wind was blowing. Karl and Mike came down and was nice to see both again. Here's a couple pics of Mike from today:

Nice pictures, looks like everyone was having a good time.

What a great venue! Very first class, just stuck out in the middle of nowhere. Besides the 32 "street" car visitor drivers, a few of the track's members brought some cars out. Only two McClarens, one 430 Ferarri, and down hill from there. Definitely above my pay grade. Mesa Mike had lots of fun, got out on the track for at least four 15 minute sessions and could have done more except for a two hour delay for a practically full track oil down clean up. The folks running things were very helpful and friendly. The temperature was barely above 50* and was uncomfortable when the wind would kick up. Definitely an entertaining Saturday that I'd be glad to do again. Thanks Tucson guys for keeping everyone in the loop.

What a great weekend. Karl and I headed down friday at noon and stopped in Miami for a great Mexican lunch. Arrived in Willcox about 4:30 and located the track, about 12 miles out of town in rolling hills. Joe was there with his SPF to make two Cobra's. Joe was in a separate group but we did get to run together in my last run. Nice fast red SPF and Joe does good on the track. Bonus for me was meeting "lucky winner" who's building a MK4. Took him out for one session to show him how his new car might handle. Did a skid pad donut with his 14 year grandson (he said "ah some!!!!") and gave a short ride to his wife "Victoria Secret". Thanks for the photo's Larry, keep in touch Dave.
While Karl and I were on this great track the rest of the ESSC was wine tasking around Elgin. I think they hit 5-6 wineries before they decided to get lost while driving to our hotel in Sierra Vista. Dinner at the Texas Roadhouse, after dinner cocktails and breakfast the next morning before heading back to PHX. Great weekend but a little cold in the am saturday. Temp was 25 degrees and I had this hard stuff I couldn't see through on the windshield and nothing to scrape it off with. Fun, Fun, Fun. |
Yes, good meeting you and your wife Dave! Hope to get to see at more events as they arise.
Larry |
Larry you guys are killing me with your pictures of track day at INDE. The thing I'm going to miss most about selling the "Red Headed Mistress" is open tracking her. Did Dave track his Daytona or the Z06?
We stayed in Idaho this winter and while you are talking about cool weather on Saturday it was high of 24 and low of 8 here. Wish we were in Tucson this winter to enjoy your "cool weather". Dick |
