Inde Racing date, Wilcox, AZ.
Hey Mike Brasfield and company, A date has been set for the track at Inde Motorsports in Wilcox, AZ. Saturday, December 14th is the date. The cost for all day, at least 4 - twenty minute sessions, is $160.00. Usually you'll get in five or six sessions if your car lasts that long.
Please contact: "Hunter" at gtaburnout@yahoo.com. He has been doing this for the last two years and can give you all of the info. He's a pretty laid back guy.

I used to live in Tucson! Grew up there actually. Do you know a guy named Mike Treece? He has a dark blue FFR. He lives up off Orange Grove and La Canada area.

Mike just completed his tenth car show a couple weeks ago in Pinetop.
He received an award for it. Good guy!
John, we'll be there on the 14th.

Everybody knows Mike. John I usually make a holiday trip to SFO on or about that date. I'll check my calendar and if in town will definitely come down for the track day. As far as cost is concerned, I have paid up to $250 for the same type of track event. At $160 this is a great deal. I'm going on the web site for wilcox and take a look at the track. Thanks for the follow-up.

Nice! He is a good guy. I used to live not too far from him and we went to church together. Good to know he is well known out there! I don't ever see or talk to him these days but next time you guys see him tell him Chance Hales says hi!
His Cobra was the first I truly experienced. He brought it by the house to show it off to my father who really wanted one then (still does). My love for the Cobra was started that day and now I'm working for Kirkham! Funny how simple little things like that can have such a HUGE impact on someone.

I am going to try to make it as well but may try to get a set of 17's with stickier rubber for the future. I don't want to give up the classic look of the 15's but ran out of brakes and traction last time. Anyone know if the pin drive 17 inch wheels common on the superformance will fit a csx car?

Are the CSX cars 5 pin or 6 pin? I believe the SPF cars are 5 pin.

Mine are 6 pin so they won't fit. Vintage wheels can make a set for an additional $400 above the SPF version for 17 inch wheels but was hoping to find a used set

4910...what type of brakes do you have that you "ran out of brake"? I have been to quite a few track days and never had a problem braking. Street tires will never hook up like slicks but it's not a race but a high speed driving experience. You were on the track with some real racers and it would be a mistake for me to try and keep up with them. The yellow w/black driven by Randy, ( I think) had street times. Just be cautious with your right foot and roll on the throttle and you should stay hooked. Hope you make it, you have a beautiful car.

I believe randy runs nitto street tires but are 17 inch wheels and tires instead of 15 in I have. The nitto's have a lot more grip than my Avons. I have the stock 4 piston Baer brakes that came on the csx cars but I believe 11 inch rotors.
The Avons are great on the street compared to BFG or Goodyear but I don't think they get near as sticky as the Nitto's. 17 inch wheels, sticky tires and larger brakes will always put me a bit behind on the track( as well as my limited experience)

I looked at Nittos for my car. My 18"PS2s were worn on the rears so I ended up getting Bridgestone Potenzas = terrible track tires. Looked like I had 2 inches of crap stuck to the tires when done on the track. I guess they are sticky? They slid all over the place (operator error with no balls most of the time). I have to say the brakes worked mar..bel...o.u.s!!
(Wilwood 6 piston)Thought I did ok except for the few spins. 1 rock chip! Get sticky tires. It really makes a difference.

I got an email from Hunter Mcdonald a couple days ago. We needs a few more drivers/cars to keep the cost per car down. Anyone interested, let me know or Hunter's email is in Johns original post.

I just emailed Hunter and told him I'm in for the track day. Hope more people will join buy I'm not hopeful. I will, Fitz might, Randy is a track guy and a few others out there. But doubtful there will be enough for a "cobra track day". It needs to include other clubs and cars to make it work.

Hunters not a Cobra guy, more a Japanese-turbo-guy. Most of the other guys fit into that catagory as well. The Cobra guys are a very small number in this group.
I have to admit though, that those WRX and similar cars are really quick.

Just heard from Hunter. Spots are limited so you better get going if you want in on this track event. Limited to only 8 cars per session for only $160. Payment needs to be received before the track day. When the spots are filled no other spots will be offered.
