Pavillions Sat
Hey Gordon! I'll be there just to see those two beauties! I'll arrive about 4pm and start saving a space.

An SO FFR? First time I've heard of someone putting that combo together -- it's always 302s, Windsors and 460s... Does it sound any different? What intake system is on it? Single carb?

Ben,
You really must hear this FFR. Sounds very nasty.
If you can't make the Pav stop by the shop.

Well, I didn't want to say anything at the shop while lookin' at that side oiler. I didn't want Gordon to get a big head. But man is
that thing neat. I mean all the stuff is put in nice. It fits! believe it or not I thought it looked better than an original. Getting all that stuff under the hood and looking good too is no small task. That car ROCKS ! OK Gordon don't do any more cool stuff yet, I only give two compliments a year, and you earned this one.

Thanks Hersh, A compliment from you? WOW, I don't know how I will get my head through a doorway now. It is Phils car and it is the nastiest sounding Cobra I've worked on except maybe Dick Smith's. Come out Sat and see.
Putting this setup in a FFR was no small task. There are a lot of very custom built parts in it.

This sounds like something I must see. I'll have to see if I can make it out to the Pavillions this Saturday. I'm usually there anyway, so I'll just track you guys down.

Maybe
I took the car out again last night and she is still doing well.
Saturday, at 10:00am I am taking it to a friends house in Scottsdale to weigh it on a 4 scale setup. Guess I could hang out till 3:30 or so then shoot down for a few hours.

Mike,
It's goin'. I may have an opportunity to switch jobs here in the next couple of weeks. The new position would mean more money and would be something I might not hate as much as what I'm doing now. I'm still trying to come up with a way of affording a Cobra. I know I could build one, and I really want one, but I don't have the upfront capital. I'll just have to keep saving, and try not to spend so much money on my Formula.
I really want to see that side-oiler, though. That should be sweet.

Gordon -- back to the SO. How come it sounds so nasty? It is a characteristic of the SO, or is it because you built it with a lopey cam, open exhaust or what???
I've always wondered about this.......

First it's a SO with tunnel port heads. The owner said I could build it any way I wanted to as long as it runs on pump gas

What a great showing. I'd say about 12-14 Cobras plus Gordon's GT-40. As I recall at least 4 FFRs, about the same # of SPFs, 1 Unique 289 FIA (still one of my favorites), the aluminum bodied AC and I'm not sure what else. Mikiec -- you would have loved it. The whole PAV was packed tonight. I guess it was the nice weather. The FFR with the 427 SO was great too. Gordon -- you and I have similar tastes in "sound appreciation".
BTW, Gordon -- my middle child (one of my girls) was very impressed that you actually
build these cars. She asked how you learned how to do it. The father in me gave her the academic answer -- reading, math and lots of practice.
Bob B -- we missed you. I even brought the box of goodies for the luau. No problem -- I'll get it to one of you some time or other before Dec 9.
Kevin -- great to see you. Glad you had a chance to meet my whole gang.
LOTS of other cars and people there. But I seem able to only focus on the Cobras. Imagine that...

Pavillions
Sorry, I couldn't make it Sat Ben. I never miss cobra gatherings. But didn't feel well (Cold) and spent all day Sat with Oldest Son looking for new car. Also lost throttle return spring - scarry!
Mike, can I send an announcement about the Arizona Cobras attending the car show part of the NASA races (and racing) to Bob Golfen so it can be published in Arizona Republic? Also since there will be 2 separate Cobra races Sunday (Shelby Series and FFR) Can they be mentioned also?
I will send request to NASA also to send announcement to Newspaper. Don't want to step on toes or mis-represent.
These races are open to public.
