Default A drive to Tucson, this Sunday, 11-18-01

The Tucson Cobra owners are looking forward to hosting the Arizona Cobra Club event and meeting this Sunday, 11-18-01. The routes have been road checked, the burgers and dogs are in the freezer, the drinks are cooling off in the tub, and the weather will be about 76 degrees during the day and about 72 when you start back on your trip north. I'd suggest that you bring a nice jacket, hat, and gloves for the drive home, we Arizonans know that any temperture below 69 is down right cold! From your assembly point at I-10 and Elliot Rd. it is 99 miles down to GRANT RD. exit # 256. You'll exit to the right, at the traffic light turn left ,east, and go under the interstate about 1/2 mile. The Sonic Drive In is on the right , south, side next to a movie theater. The Sonic does not offer breakfast, they will have coffee, BLT's and their regular menu. We are planning to be there between 9:30am and 10:00am to meet you. Plan to leave the Sonic at 10:45am for the drive to the secret destination. For those of you who may arrive late we are going to this address: 3420 N. Vine in Tucson, the general location is Prince Rd. and Mountain Ave. From here we will depart about 12:30pm for Matt Smith's new ranch. Matt and his wife, Ayris, are hosting our bar-b-que and meeting. If you cannot make the morning event you can find Matt's ranch by going north on Oracle, which is Highway 79, from Ina Rd. Go about ten miles to Golder Ranch Rd., (watch for a Texaco Gas station on the east side) and turn east, go about 1.2 miles to Lago del Oro Parkway and turn left, north. Drive about 1/2 mile to a sign which says "Cheval" ( look for three tall cypress trees) and turn right into the property then follow the road north toward the house and outbuildings. We are planning to arrrive there at 1:00pm. Please bring your wife/son/daughter/friend, we are looking forward to meeting all of you. Now, as for the money part of this, plan to bring about five, one dollar bills. We are having a fun contest which starts at the Sonic and ends at Matt's house - this will cost you $1.00. There will be one winner. The secret destination operates on donations only, and we hope that you will find that it is worth a couple of those one dollar bills. If you have any questions please call me at: 520-529-8878. See you Sunday, John-Tucson

Default Tucson Meeting

John: I am in the process of installing new heads on my engine. I'm half the way there and assuming no snags, I will be at the Sonic on Sunday.

Looking forward to meeting everyone.

Nope,

With me helping it would take twice as long. Those sign in the garages....50.00 per hour if I do it...60.00 per hour if you watch..100.00 per if you help. Those were from me trying to help. It's amazing how far some mechanics will throw tools then ask you to go get it for them. Come back and the doors are closed..
