David has passed.

David was a fun guy. He sure loved his birds and his Daytona Coupe. He will be missed by many!

Fitz 12-13-2013 04:54 PM

That's a dam shame that nobody knew. Was wondering what happened to him at Pavilions. He was a guy that redid my roof when I first moved in. Story: remember driving up to Canyon Lake and that giant wolf jumped out and forced old Dave into the rocks!!!!?"€¥%#^? What day!
He will be missed** say a pray for him .

On one of the runs up Yarnell, Gloria came over to me and asked, Mike, how fast were we going. I said not sure but I looked once and we were up to 85MPH. She walked over to Dave smacked him and said... I'm not riding with you ever again. Dave later came by and thanked me.

I did not know that David had passed away. I had always wanted a FFR Coupe, and his was the first one I ever looked at up close. That's David sitting behind his car.

Dave surely loved his car, and rightly so.
Someone refresh my memory:

Did he build it?
What brand was it?

dave from mesa 12-24-2013 07:45 AM

Well according to the windshield Factory Five. Not sure who built it.

Fast289 12-24-2013 08:47 AM

That coupe sure is sweet.

Bob Broberg SPF667 460BB 12-24-2013 10:27 AM

Dave bought the Coupe complete and then changed the appearance to his choices. Paint, decals, numbers, etc. Always clean.
Don't know who he bought it from or who built it.

I believe the engine was 302 based, aluminum heads, and I do remember it had Mass-Flo, or some similar type fuel injection. I remember Dave telling me it wasn't anything too radical. Plenty fast and very streetable. He let me sit in his Coupe a few hours after these photos were taken. Even though I loved my Roadster, I was hooked and knew I'd have a Coupe soon.

Didn't recognize John's care without clecos..

Karl Bebout 12-24-2013 07:32 PM

Has anyone heard if Dave's car is for sale or maybe has been sold?

John-Tucson 12-24-2013 07:57 PM

Dan, Thanks for the posting.

I always enjoyed speaking with Dave at Cobra outings. His knowledge of birds and the big smile when he spoke about them held my interest. I wasn't at the "coyote-crossing-the-road" event but enjoyed listening to him after the coupe was repaired.

Thanks for the memories Dave, My thoughts and prayers go to your family.

Dave's car was built in Mass by Mike Everson.

It was his second car. His original was an FFR roadster Green in color.

Fitz 12-26-2013 08:00 AM

Nice guy. Rest in peace
