Hot Rod drive to Phoenix, need a lunch spot.
Hey you Phoenix guys, On Wednesday, Jan 22nd. I'll be bringing a few hot rods from Tucson up there for a visit to the Dwarf Car Museum , the Bondurant Racing facility, the "Hall of Flame" and ending at "Squeeg's Hot Rod Shop".
Can you recommend a restaurant between the Bondurant facility and the "Hall of Flame" ?
If any of you have the day off please join us. Love to have the snowbirds from Chicago join us, even those from Wash. & Oregon.

John,
Jason's Deli is off Ray Rd just east of I10. That's where Bondurant sends it's pupils for lunch. Lots of selections and good food. Google it.

John,
What time do you estimate being at Sqeeg's Shop? Can't promise I can make anything earlier but we'll see.
Regards,

The company I moved to AZ for, made Doug, " son of squeeg" tools to fit body styles so he could do his magic on restoring cars. Amazing work!

John, what's your ETA at the Museum? Let me know if you'll be going through Stanfield on 84.
I can meet you on the way and lead ya'll through the back roads to Ernie's.

Hey guys, thanks for the replies. We plan to be at the Big House Café in Casa Grande from 9:15 to 10:15am. A short drive to the Dwarf Car Museum arriving about 10:50 am and leaving at 11:25. Then on to the Bondurant Racing facility in Chandler for a 1 hour tour, and up to Jason's Deli on Ray Rd. for lunch, 1:20 to 2:00 pm Next is the "Hall of Flame", arriving about 2:15, leaving at 3:15PM and heading for "Squeeg's Hot Rod " at 341 E. Alamo Dr., Chandler, expected arrival time there is 3:30pm. We plan about 30 minutes there and then the 1:30 drive back to a local bar & grill for beer and ribs.
Again, thanks for your comments, please feel free to join us anywhere along the route. The times are estimates. I can be reached at 520-403-0103 for the actual times as we drive the route.

Scotchman, I didn't find the Jason's Deli. Turns out I was looking at the wrong side of the street, also I didn't realize that the shopping area was so big, I'm from little old Tucson. We did have a good meal at a restaurant on the south side of the street and enjoyed the large portions that were served.
Gofastoldguy, It was nice meeting you at Squeegs'. Sorry that we had to leave before we had a chance to talk much. I hope that you enjoyed Squeegs', there were a lot of beautiful cars there, I was impressed at the quality of their work.

John…Nice to see you again. The shop was quite nice to be sure. Reminded me of Hot Rods by Dean's place. You could "smell" the quality.
Ciao

Great Day!
John, excellent job planning the stops. The Bondurant tour was the especially interesting since I was not aware of the enormity of his operation. It was a nice surprise when the top dog showed up with his wife and chatted with us for quite some time.
Squeeg's Hot Rod Shop was impressive with their quality of work, as was mentioned above.
Of course my favorite hangout is still Mr. Dwarf Car shop just for the pure talent the man has for creating something very unique from scratch. Did I mention he is my idol?
And the guys you brought up driving their rods was actually nice bunch, not at all like the rowdy Phoenix group!
Thanks John, great day hanging out with you all!
Ralph

OK. That sounded like a very pleasant post. Even polite. Who are you and where is the real Ralph Red Car?
