Default The Next Annual Event

Tucson John, How about a Phoenix-Tucson Challenge meeting at the Dairy Queen in Globe? http://tinyurl.com/mnpv4le
You can buy us all an ice cream cone and your group and ours can separate for respective runs. We could follow 188 up to 87 (maybe lunch at Jake's Corner) and back to Phoenix. You could run the ring to Superior and south to Tucson (maybe lunch in Hayden.)
Date? How about March 22? Open to other suggestions.

I have one question. If we lose who pays for the ice cream?

Chances of losing are next to zero. Have we ever lost? I'll donate to the pot no matter which way John swings... Can I say that?

First, we need an OK from the Tucson Boys. They are usually represented by Tucson John who frequently drives long trips, so he may not even know about these suggestions. Second, our own Fitz has spent years at Roosevelt Lake, sometimes sober, so he should know route 188 well from end to end. He can lead us and perhaps stop at the lake's best lookout spot or gift shop. How about it Fitz?

Default March 22nd

If I am here sure. Isn't that period of time when the Renaissance stoners are playing out on East highway 60. That is a scenic drive up though Superior. Suggest we go up 87 to 188 to Jakes Corner then onto Roosevelt (stop at the dam) (take picture of Dam- use to be the largest stone dam in US- built by Apaches and vampires under Roosevelt).

Have to watch out for Radar along 88 as they hide. 45 and 55 means 55 (I have experience). 87 is nice as you can let get go as you can see way ahead but.

Coming back to Phoenix from East to West depending on time could be faster as traffic may not be as bad as going out east to Superior.

You may have a point there Fitz. The Festival is Feb 8th to March 30th so I-60 will be stop and go eastbound every Sat. Your suggestion of Jake's Corner first then Globe DQ may be a good move. Lunch after somewhere in the Globe area. Only 123 miles from Shell station at Shea and Beeline. I'll bet our members know of a good place to eat.

If we are going to Jake's Corner, why do we want to do lunch in Globe? Why not eat while we are at jakes? What ever, if the car is back, I'm in. I will even contribute if Mikie has to buy ice cream.. not much, but I will contribute.

This trip sounds good to me. My friend Hector (and a Miami native) has turned me on to a Mexican restaurnat there that is much better, to me, than Chalo's in Globe. Lots of paved, on street parking. Ya'll know that I do know my groceries.

We are waiting for the Tucson Boys to respond. How about it John? You boys only have about 100 miles to the Globe DQ for the Big Annual Cone-Off. It's 147 miles for me.

Hey John, would March 8th, 15th or 29th be any better? You are usually the one setting this up.
I am just trying to get the ball rolling.
