March 8th Tortilla Flats

Larry Johnson is in town that day and is requesting a Tortilla Flats run.

What say you?

I'm thinking the Chevron station Idaho Rd and the 60, leave at 8:30AM

Mike

Robert McLinden 02-24-2014 11:10 AM

I'm in. Hope I feel better than I did last Sat.

Bill Dapuzzo 02-24-2014 11:35 AM

Hey Mikie, do you know if the road up to Tortilla Flats been resurfaced? The last time we were up there, about a year ago, the road was in pretty bad shape.

mikiec 02-24-2014 01:44 PM

I have not been there since the last trip.

Maricopa 02-24-2014 02:10 PM

Larry Johnson? Sounds like a made up name to me.

Cobrakeith 02-24-2014 02:23 PM

I'm in. See you at 8:30 at the Chevron station.

The road has not been resurfaced and it will be very cold that early. 9:30 might be better. Regardless if the car is.ready I'm in.

mikiec 02-24-2014 03:57 PM

8:30 or 9:30 makes no difference. I will defer to the masses on what time.

Fast289 02-24-2014 04:30 PM

Didn't Larry Johnson play running back at Penn State then in the NFL? I should make that run.

BTW, did anyone grab my orange folding chair at Kirks?

Dave from Chandler

mikiec 02-24-2014 05:16 PM

If you left your chairs, someone will sell them back to you.

Fast289 02-24-2014 05:39 PM

I will buy a new chair, it will be cheaper. I have seen everyone's negotiating tactics.....

Cheers

I Would really like to go on a run but not in my Tundra. Pulling engine, bad things are happening to several pistons. I have had the flu twice and I am now enrolled as an medicare recipient.

Not a good year so far.

Have fun, Gary

Danr55 02-25-2014 04:40 AM

Dave, I have your chair.. the buy back price will be reasonable.. Hector, what's up with all of that? Why do your pistons have the flu? Does Medicare do engine work? Are they any good?

Get better ... QUICK!

Fast289 02-25-2014 05:37 AM

Thanks Danr.

hinoonaz 02-25-2014 07:08 AM

Unfortunately medicare does not cover pistons they just have to die just like in Obamacare.

Cactus Bob 02-25-2014 08:19 AM

I'm in

Karl Bebout 02-25-2014 10:39 AM

Sounds like a plan to me, but don't expect me to take our departed friend, Dave Schulak's place. Maybe "stud-finder Don" will come along and take over those honors?

Larry N Johnson 02-25-2014 12:26 PM

Tottilla Flats Mar 8

Larry who?

Thanks, let us know the time and place...will be there!

You do still let blue cars run with the AZ gang?

We gotta get out of the snow up here in Utah for a real run.

Mr. Pink still alive?

Bob Broberg SPF667 460BB 02-25-2014 03:47 PM

Yes, blue is allowed, with me, in the back.
Yes, I understand Mr Pink is breathing but no one knows where.
Sounds like a plan.

Mesa Dave and I went out to Tortilla Flats today to scope out the road condition. USE EXTRA POLIGRIP! Plenty bumpy. Reminds me of some CA freeways, except without their pot holes. The place was jam-packed so we just went up the road, truned around and headed for Mesa. The ride there was exceedingly boring since there were always four to six snowbirds ahead of us, hitting a top speed of 7MPH on the tight turns. At least coming back had very little traffic and I almost got a blister twisting and turning the steering wheel through a lot of hard turns. Maybe I shoud have added power steering to go along with my stereo, cup holders, heater and AC?
