The new sender works just fine, like all the others at first. It's the same exact part, 4th one in 6 years. Speed Hut Oil 0-100 psi pressure sender-part # G-SNDR-09. You can see a pic on their web sight under Other Products/Gauge Accessories/Senders-2nd page. There may be problem with my set up, causing the part to go bad. Sometimes you just have to be a detective to figure this s#%@ out!

I think its more of a matter of aftermarket parts. To be price competitive, they are mostly made in China or other countries where quality is not the same as OEM parts. You would be hard pressed to find a high quality unit and have a spare if that is something you don't want to live with.

Scotty, Did you see the note that says that this sender only works with thier G- OIL-01 gage?

The resistance values are listed as 240-33 ohms, it says nothing of the quality or where it is made. Unfortunately a lot of these types of products are manufactured off shore from China with suspect quality, and much of it is reboxed with the EXACT piece being marketed under various brand names or sold by different parts houses. If what you have fails, look for a US made item with these values. Good luck

The unit was supplied by Speed Hut to Factory Five and was included in their complete kit package. It is supposed to be compatible with their gauge. I did install an arm that comes out of the block with a terminal wire at the end of the arm which goes to the red light indicator on the dash for low oil pressure, and the Oil Pressure Sending unit is inserted into that arm. It is a back up safety measure. Is there a possibility it is causing the Oil Pressure Sending unit to go bad ? We thought maybe we were getting air bubbles into the unit ??

Thanks man. I always hope someone on this forum has an easy answer. Usually not the case. I'll probably get another 1 1/2 years out of this part, and we'll see what happens the next go round.

The fact that is is at the end of the "ARM" will have no bearing on it's life expectancy.
The one you have is probably the least expensive one available, (If you know what I mean).
It sounds like the one you want is for an OPEN/CLOSE switch to operate a red low pressure light instead of variable 0-60 lb gauge? Do you have both a gauge AND a red light?

As a safety device, I added a hole to that arm and installed a low pressure switch interlocked with my ignition. If I loose oil pressure, the ignition shuts off, preventing the engine from running. If the switch goes bad and I can verify oil pressure, I can easily connect the two wires to get me home.
If I have a gauge go bad on the road, I know if runs, I have oil pressure.

I have both the red light for low pressure, and a 0-100 psi gauge. The red light has never come on while the engine is running. If there is a higher quality sending unit that will work with my wiring, I'd sure like to know. Thanks for the input.
