Cobra car cover
Anyone have a cobra car cover they want to part with?
|
Costco,
Mazda sized. About 30 bucks. |
Here's a reasonable one: [ame="http://www.amazon.com/Coverking-Custom-Select-Shelby-Models/dp/B000FDU3A4"]Amazon.com: Coverking Custom Car Cover for Select AC Shelby Cobra Models - Silverguard (Silver): Automotive@@AMEPARAM@@http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41H8Z86AE5L.@@AMEPARAM@@41H8Z86AE5L[/ame] I have the CoverKing Stormproof and paid about $200 many years ago. It is still good as new.

Also, try California Car Covers.

the $30 and $50 covers are as water proof as the $350 ones.

Maybe for a light drizzle.

I did not know it rain in Arizona:LOL:
I have used a cheap cover for 12 years, well ready two. I do have a small plastic tarp that I put on top of the cover for heavy rain. But a few times I did not use the plastic tarp and it rained, I had water standing on the cover and the inside of the Cobra was dry. Just my experience. When I called Ca. Car Cover they told me their $360 cover was not water proof. Dwight |
I have a CA Car Cover .. paid around $190 7 years ago .. is waterproof and has been on my cobra when I had to use the garage for shop activities .. in Miami in the summmer .. read that as HEAVY rain. No leaks. Great cover. Wouldn't think of any other one. Had one on my first cobra .. a Unique and it went with the car when I sold it. Got a new ERA and a new cover.

Here's an alternative: disposable plasic car covers used by auto body shops.
Yeah at 12' x 22' they are big for a Cobra and yeah they will stick to hot side pipes. But they're cheap $6 to $10 each and they are waterproof. Pac flat so great for travelling/shows. And elasticized all around and can be cut down to fit our cars. Just a thought. Cheers Greg |
Size 1 (like Mikie says, for the early Miatas) Autozone special here for those without Cosco membership . They usually have to order it but it only takes a day or two. They are tight but the size 2 is too a bit too big for a standard WB replica.

"We Don't Need No Stinkin' Covers!" :p We drive our cars!:D Ralph:MECOOL: |
We don't need no wax shine either. A little dirt, dust, and oil smudges look good on these cars. That, and that wild one on Skully's hood ! :D

Thanks to Fast289 (Dave from Chandler)
He recommended a car cover he got off e-bay for $60 or $75 total with shipping. It fits prefect, not to big and not to small. Nice and thick and super soft inside lining. If anyone is looking for one here it is. Ultimate HD 5 Layer Car Cover AC Cobra Shelby Roadster | eBay |
Dan, take and post a photo of the cover on your cobra so we can all see how it fits. It looks bulky and the free bag looks the size of a military duffle. Size is important since the only time you will use it is on an out of town trip and packing space is limited.
Thank You AZ Bob |

Here are a couple pictures.
It is a bit bulky but I will always have a empty passenger side most likely. |
Mine fits about the same. The bag is not to big, I had it in my trunk and could squish it into place. I have no room whatsoever in my Cobra and it was not a factor.

I've had a Technelon, or something like that, for at least 15 years and it has held up very well. Granted, I don't use it that often, but at its age and our temperatures, I would not have been surprised if it had fallen apart. It is somewhat bulky, but I can roll it into a pretty snug package and can wedge it into my trunk and have relatively quite a bit of room left. ( this is, of course, without the cute little blue bottle installed in the trunk). When it dies, I'll probably spring for one of the CA Covers, when I hit the lottery. I did snag one of Finishline's plastic covers, at 50% off, to carry as an emergency item for the next time I get stuck in a heavy rain. I don't have to worry about side pipes, so that's not an issue. It'll just be good to keep the cockpit from becoming a hot tub.

Finishline
So what's the story with Finishline...the emails sound like they are giving up the ghost.
BTW does anyone know where I can get some front over riders that have the top half filled in? That what my first Contemporary had....I like the look and want the same for the one I'm working on right now. It looks finished. |
