Escort or the Valentine you can't go wrong. The Laser jammers some are very effective when used with a good detector, your detector goes off the police laser is blanked, you slow down and by the time the police acquire you are at a legal speed(hopefully).

I'm pretty sure a cop can do a visual guess and still write you up even with a jammer. It may not hold up in court but he can still ruin your day.

I've had a valentine for about 8 years. It's quite impressive and will pick a signal up from over a mile away.

ItFitz, sounds like the Escort 9500CI is exactly what you need, and then you could be our rabbit on cruises. I'd even be willing to chip in for some of your gas. It would be well worth it to be able to do some "spirited" tooling without having to worry about getting zapped....or we could just wait for Ralphie to come back...
What's another $2K after what you've put into your car?

loaf911,
You should be teaching ethics classes at the police acadamies around the country.
Thank you for your service.

That doesn't include the installation. Probably another $500 to install all the components.
And then, when you drive one of your other cars, you have zero protection.
I prefer to be able to move my detector into whatever car I may be driving at the moment. .

You can get software that integrates the display into your HUD (if your car has one, like the Corvettes). Having the display locked away behind a compartment or console is useless when you want to analyze the type of threat and you have to pause to take your eyes off the road. Too late unless you memorize the different tones and practice lightning fast braking. Open highway you usually have plenty of time to react to CHP Ka bands (my V1 can see them up to 2 miles out).
The jammers on the C7 are nice and blend in well....from 50+ feet. Any LEO that pulls you over and sees those, you are busted. Laser is so hard to detect and defeat...a very narrow band and target area. Hopefully jammer tech will continue to improve and continue to get smaller. When using jammers you have to always be prepared to brake hard and disable (toggle off) the jammers very, very quickly. Otherwise, you tip off the shooter and face a possible pull-over. Best defense = chase a rabbit ahead of you.
loaf911, you have my upmost respect and epitomize how law enforcement should behave. Thank you, sir.

Another strong vote for the Valentine 1. It has more than paid for itself in several vehicles.
For those concerned about the detector being visible, these boys in Texas have just what you need with a V1.
Just click the "V1" link below. Sweeet!......

I have read about it and seen YouTube videos via corvetteforum.com. Lots of good info there.

9500CI and Blinder
I have both the 9500 CI and the Blinder. Here in GA laser is the tool of choice so I opted for extra protection. Love both. Have had the Escort for 5+ years with no issues.
