Default Trailer advise for the Cobra???

I'm thinking about ordering a metal/alum enclosed car hauler trailer.
I want 8.5 wide X 16 long X low profile high???.
Is it a crazy idea to build it 5.5 foot high?

I really like this trailer HERE but it's $10,000 and I can build one for less then half that.

The trailer will be fine if you don't want to haul anything else with her. Also, you might need Billy Barty to drive her in and out of the trailer.

This is what I had before I sold it to buy the SE.
Mighty Mover Trailers, Inc. "Supreme Hauler".

It was easier to load and unload. Easier to tie down. A lot tougher to tow with a 1/2ton pick up. It's a trade off. Do you want more room to facilitate loading, unloading, carrying extra stuff or are you more interested in ease of pulling.

I'm using a 24' Haulmark and the added length makes it so much easier to tie down, especially in the front where straps can rub on the body if you're not careful. Room for tool box, winch, spare tire and misc. crap that's always needed. I'm 5' 13" so I want full headroom just because I know I'll get pissed off when I smack my head! LOL Bought mine 3 years ago and here in CT it was 5500 roughly. With NO inflation in this economy (according to the experts) I can't imagine why the smaller trailer cost so much more. I love the Haulmark.

Dan,
Get a trailer that you can use for multiple functions. I have an open car hauler that I move furniture with, and also go to the dump with branches. Small enclosed low trailers are a pain in the A$$. ( Or should I say lower back )

Scotchman: Looks like you could add a Serpent Express Retro Kit to your open hauler and have the best of both worlds. order

I have an open trailer too. Very versatile for hauling different things. If I were to buy one again though, I would buy an open aluminum trailer and as low a profile as I could find. Mine is a little high for a low car, though it's not bad.

I use a Alum. 2010 20' HaulMark enclosed trailer designed primarily for auto hauling. But it also serves a verity of other uses. I picked it up used; fully decked out for long distance hauling, 7k axel set, 10k lbs. winch, full length trac tie down strapping & straps, insulated, paneled & lighted for $3k almost 3 years ago. Great deals are out there if you take a little time & look.

Tony, you are too funny. Only $23,900. Ratboy could have a yard full of trailers.

I'm really on the fence, do I want a open hauler, a enclosed hauler or no hauler at all.

Petes trailer is pricey. I looked at one for my gt when I was thinking of it. But if you're looking for inspiration and a fabricator you could probably do one yourself. It met my criteria of being no higher than the roof line of my dodge pickup. I also saw one made by a small company in Arizona that wasn't tall

Why do you say never ever again? U-Haul or open trailer?

C'mon, Tony.
If an open single axle trailer is good enough for Lynn Park...
