We will all be looking forward to receiving them.

Reminder for New Trip People

Bring sunscreen, chairs, and parking lot drinks and snacks. There is a convenience store walking distance for drinks & snacks. Most of the parking lot seating area is in shade. If your glass is half empty, bring an umbrella and your top. Most cars are covered at night. Mikie C. still holds parking lot burnout records.

She will need to make more. Unlike Dave, who does not like Judy's cookies, if I am not watched cookies disappear.

She doesn't know yet.

I figured that when you posted "YUMMY"
I have the same problem around sweets.

Bob,
Where's our weather forecast for our trip?

DrDuc 04-20-2015 10:43 PM

This will be my first time for this trip. I'll play it by ear on Saturday. Charlie is still fixing a brake issue on the Black Mamba. Seems someone in Maricopa put the emergency brake on backwards as it's been rubbing the inside of the rims. (Besides suggesting changing a solid lifter engine to Mobil One- an extra $10,000 bill) Hopefully all will be running by then. See you there.

I'll take a wild stab at the weather Dan. Sunny and hot.

Bruce,
Mobil One also killed my old FFR 347 in about 400 miles.
Kinda sad you think your doing a good thing only to find out your not.

Danr55 04-21-2015 09:56 AM

OUCH! lotta fillings for $10K.. Good luck Doc.. I hope you make it.. Take some of the heat off of me for the run up there..

mikiec 04-21-2015 10:29 AM

Suggestion for all thos doing this the first time.

Take in the entire experience. From Seligman to Kingman then Sunday to Topock. Stop at as many of the tourist traps. er spots as you can. Enjoy the people sitting on the sides of the roads etc..

I remember my first one and it was special, still is. Ginny and I were by our selves on that trip.

Mike

I don't mean to argue with the Master, but I prefer the Salmon Run on Sunday. That is a lot more relaxed and you can actually see stuff and take pictures.. and shop, ladies..

mikiec 04-21-2015 05:44 PM

The salmon run was started a few years ago by Jim Olsen and is a GREAT END to the trip. However, the some of the overall experience is missing. Each to their own. There was an accident that could have been avoided by not doing the Seligman to Kingman run.

What I love best about the Salmon run is the unfettered access to Hackberry and lack of crowds in Seligman.

Mikie, you still have a week to make it.:)

vettestr 04-22-2015 11:16 AM

Hey Rat, Your engine problems are one of the 5 engines with cam problems right after adding synthetic oil to a flat tappet cam that I have seen personally. Seems to get settled before court date so no proof I can point to for past experiences .... gotta love them roller cams that fix da problem though.

I don't know what's in my current motor but the original owner seems to think its a roller.
I'm not taking a chance and only run Brad Pen oil now.

mikiec 04-22-2015 01:01 PM

What is Brad Pen oil?

Dan, still can't make it. As much as I would like to. Decided to drown my sorrows in some gunpowder and lead.

Robert McLinden 04-22-2015 01:39 PM

Google it mike. Been using it for 10 yrs. besides how can you go wrong with a oil that's colored green.

There is a nice article about Route 66 in the May 2015 (current) issue of Arizona Highways.

mikiec 04-22-2015 07:03 PM

Tony? Vegas is not that far. Drive down and meet up with the gang.
