Thanks to AZ Cobras
Met some of the members of AZ Cobras this weekend both at 67th ave and 83rd ave last night, and just wanted to give a quick thanks for allowing me to pick their brains with some questions. Being very new to this "animal" there is a learning curve that is needed, but I dont want to make that curve a super "expensive" one. Thanks to all that were there.

New Cobra Owner
Welcome to the Club Joe Bria. You have made a nice purchase. I have seen your car and it looks and sounds professionally constructed. You have reached the epitome of driving fun.
I know you are the President of Wild West Mustangs and you have a 2014 GT500, but if you can join us on some of our "runs" you will see what we all have felt. The most fun you can have on 4 wheels. I am a member or your club too.
Customize your cobra to you. You can't do wrong.
Please send your e-mail address to Dan Ratti jratti4@cox.net and you will be reminded of events beside this site.
AZ Bob

Well I missed everyone last night at 83rd, I was there at 4:30 and no one was there yet.
I think I may have got a bad load of Chevron Premium gas as I am now pinging on heavy loads so I headed home and backed my timing down to 34 degree total.
Hopefully not something else going on.
I did install a 1/2" carb heat spacer and a front main seal but I don't think that would cause a ping.

Ratti Dan, that front main seal is definitely your cause of the pinging......

Dan...dump the Chevron and use Shell...Never had problem. My Honda Prelude in CZ was pinging until I found a Shell station. No more problems.

Thanks, I will give Shell at try.
Surprisingly my car seems to like a little less timing according to my but and the lack of rear tire traction.
Hot cranks easier also.
Now the front harmonic balancer install was super crazy tight.
I was afraid I was going to pull the threads out of my crank and yes I used a installer not just the bolt.
I'm starting to get my mojo back when it comes to working on my motor after losing it 100% thanks to a nitrous install gone bad 5 years ago.
