A chance to share
Some of you may remember a couple of years ago when a lady with cancer asked for a ride in a cobra for her husband and we had a tremendous showing of cars. Well, we have a similar opportuinty coming soon. A friend contacted me this past week with an idea. Seems there are a number of kids with life threatening illnesses who would really love a ride in a super car like a Cobra. Dave asked me if I would provide a car and give these kids a ride. I told him I would not only give rides, but that I would put out the word to the rest of the club and see if some of you who participated before would be willing to do this again. It's not a formal organization like Make a Wish, but just some guys with an idea. So think about it and drop a note and let me know if you are interested in participating. Thanks..

I'd be happy to join in for this. Of course it always depends on when and where, and if it's over 105 degrees out!

That's a wonderful idea Dan. Who can say no to sick kids? I am certain most everyone will help if they can. Let Dave know of our ability to accommodate. Perhaps Denise Wittstock at PCH can participate.
There are child seat requirements even in a regular car.

As said above, depending on day, time and temps I may be able to help out as well.

I'm in as well. Another thought is PROAUTO allows riders on a race track with parents consent. Nothing better than a cobra on a track. Maybe PROAUTO can help out. Just a thought.

Dan, that was the best event ever. We felt proud and humbled to take part. Sorry to say we won't be able to make this event. Hope you have a big turnout. Greg/Vicki

Great idea, would like to also do it here in NJ... How are you getting the word out to these kids?

Count me in also. I do have several child's seats that I bring along. Fitting child's seats in a Cobra is a bit difficult as the Cobra seat belts are too wide and the buckles too big to fit the child seats. I just unclip the seat belts one of my other cars and clip them to the passenger side seat belt fasteners loops located on the floor at both sides of the passenger seat. Wallah, we are ready to go. The smile on a child's face is priceless. Let's do this for the kids. They will be thrilled--we will have memories for a lifetime!
