Default Efi

Dropped the Cobra off to Bob Reems of Imagine Injection yesterday to have the F.A.S.T. EFI fuel injection installed. He will have the car for a week. Going to be a long week until I get it back. Can't wait to see and feel the difference in the performance.

What do you think that this is worth. Holly 750 duel feed double pumper manual choke carb with only 2000 miles on it.

Looking forward for your feedback.
You are doing what I want to do but I don't have money like Bob B.
Your old carb is worth about $100.00 let me know when I can buy it off you.

Will post feedback on the EFI probably next week sometime. Bob needs the car for a week to do the work.

Was not able to get to Bob's shop, but hoping that the car is done today. He said a week, but I dont know if that is a working week or a 7 day week. I would think today because he is closed sat & sun. Should not be all that much to show in progress pics. Carb off and throttle body on. I guess I could have taken pics of the new fuel lines, computer install etc. but didnt want to bother him, the more I get in his way the slower he may get hahaha.
Will post as soon as I get it back. I know I am excited to feel the difference.

Well got the car back from Bob Reems today. Started off running real well. Throttle response is instant. Went out tonight for a bit and it started to run a bit rough. He is going to GoodGuys in Tenn. this Monday for a week. So when he gets back it is going to have to be tweaked a bit. As it was, the computer that came with the kit I bought would not handle the cam that is in the motor, so had to buy an upgraded computer to handle it. Here are some pictures of the after on the install.

Yes it is Bill. I have the long oval Cobra air cleaner and the off set is needed for that air cleaner.

Running ruff?
I know it's self learning so maybe it needs more run time.
I would check all plug wire connections and maybe pull the plugs to see what they look like.
The custom computer needed seems a bit crazy for a system that claims it's the best on the market.
You may have just saved me $5,000.

Dan, I saw the install. Clean and neat. Joe has to drive his car for a while to let the brains tune the system. I will hold my opinion until then. I don't think the kit is $5K and his 1100cfm throttle body is good to 650hp. He already has instant throttle response.

Update on the list that I have to give Bob when he gets back from GoodGuys in Tenn. Can't put gas in the car. Put the filler nozzle in the gas door, start the flow and the nozzle kicks off instantly. Looked under car yesterday, the electric full pump seems to be blocking the fuel spout enterance to the tank so when filling the gas does not have a free flow into the tank and is backing up the neck shutting off the nozzle. Gas guage will not read over half a tank. I think that the fuel pump is blocking the movement of the float inside the tank. Fix for both is to take the pump out of the tank and install an in line fuel pump. Also when I go into my garage from the house in the morning, the small of gasoline is overpowering, yet there is no gas leaking anywhere. That one has me stumped.
Just my luck that Bob is out of town this week and have to wait yet another week to get it straightened out. Some of the guys from AZ Cobras at 83rd Saturday night seem to feel that Bob will make it right. I hope so, because I am starting to feel that I made a very expensive mistake that I am long going to regret.

The in tank fuel pump is the way to go, hopefully he can make that work. Knowing that he had to leave town may have rushed him.

People want to do the right thing, I am sure he will straighten it out when he gets back. Patience is a virtue. I have no virtue but I hope you do.

Talked to Bob this morning before he leaves for Tenn. and the car has to be in to him next Monday.

I took out the rear passengers side plug to see what it looks like and around the base it is black where it used to be nice and tan. Brand new 1 week old plugs. Tells me that it is running too rich.

Oh, just a LEETLE rich. Be glad for your electronic ignition. Good chance a standard coil/points ignition would have let the plug foul. Bob is definitely one of the good guys and he'll make it right.

Some of the guys from AZ Cobras at 83rd Saturday night seem to feel that Bob will make it right. He will make it 100% right, he is a very good guy.
Your plug looks very rich.
There may be another problem like a bad O2 sensor or something else which will explain why he tried a custom computer.
If you want me to wrench on it for you, I have a pretty good history when it comes to carb work.
