Scottie, Mesa Mike, Hector and I are going to a car show by Christopher Creek Saturday morning so we'll be leaving my house at 6am. Watch for us at the Beeline/Bush Hwy. about 6:30 ish. We'll probably have breakfast at the Airport. The car show costs $35-$40 but its for the local Boy Scouts and the Christopher Creek/ Kohls Ranch Fire Department. Its at the Boy Scout camp off 260, just West of Christopher Creek and goes from 9am-3pm. I've stayed out of car shows that charge me to provide an item of interest for a long time, but I think this one is for two worthwhile causes and it'll be a nice day in the cool temperatures. Anyone interested?

Weather looks good so I'm up for a drive to Payson for breakfast Scottie. I need to be back before lunch so I won't make the car show. We could meet at the Shea/Beeline Chevron then drive up to the Beeline/Bush Hwy to meet Karl, Mesa Mike and Hector. If we leave the Chevron at 6:15 we will probably beat the other three to the Bush/Beeline meeting.

I'm proud of you Karl. The Boy Scouts have always been near and dear to me. I was Troop 513 Scoutmaster for years, both of my boys are Eagle Scouts and we camped there several times. We called it Cub Scout Camp and I can recall stories about rappelling, turkeys, flooding and touch football at that campsite. I am tied up Saturday though.

Scottie, I'm going to hang around Payson or maybe take a drive up to Mormon Lake to kill time and then head back to the valley maybe about 7 or 8. Hector and I and our wives just made the drive down from Flagstaff, through Mormon Lake, Clint's Wells, and Strawberry last Sunday and it really looked like a nice Cobra road. Lots of windshield time. Be glad to have you come along, but being the social butterfly you are, I'd imagine you have something better to do on a Saturday night.

Since those of us going to the car show at Christopher Creek, should check in at 8:30, Mesa Mike thought, and so do I, that we should leave a little earlier so we will have a little more time for breakfast.

Hector and I will leave my house at 5:30, hook up with Mesa Mike along the way, and youse Phoenix folks probably 5:50--6:00.

Scottie and anyone else who wants to meet at the Shea Chevron. I will be there at 5:30 to 5:40, it should only take 10 minutes to get to the Bush Hwy turnoff to meet Karl and his group so if we leave the Chevron stn no later than 5:45 we should arrive at the meet up point by 6. Anyone object to that?

Keith,
I'll see you at the gas station at 5:30

Varmit,
I've always wanted a little place up in Payson, but you just can"t beat the beach.
Did you check out the Coronado Trail Run ? I believe one of our guys posted the map run on the forum.

Scotty, definitely gotta agree on the scenery at the beach! Makes me very nipply, but that's probably just the ocean breeze.

Thanks for the heads up Bob. The DPS had announced a couple weeks ago that they were cracking down after the rash of quite a few fatalities. Hopefully they won't be up and about real early tomorrow.

They were up all right. I saw 8 police vehicles on the way back from the Payson Airport restaurant Saturday am. 1 at the restaurant parking lot. 3 on there way there. 1 in town watching. And 3 on the highway going home, and, these were issuing tickets. Keith and I got lucky !

Yes we did. Saw one driver pulled over who had passed us earlier so the police were out there doing their thing!
