Getting old is part of the problem with many of us. We should be ban from driving on the streets in them. We all wanted these when we were 30 but we have the means to own them now. After a 5-6 hour drive you get out and fall down as your legs dead and your ass hurts. I pretty much have done everything to my car as well. I looked at Superformance and if it was the first car I saw I would have gotten one. After the fact I personally like the Backdraft as it has that extra space in cockpit. Makes a huge difference.
Motors you get use to and car just doesn't seem as fast as that first drive when you hit the brake and accelerator at the same time and managed to go through that stop sign.
Windshields are garbage. Don't ever remember my MG, TR7 or Spitfire have chips like these windshields get.
Tires: Decided on cheap tires in the beginning. Then went expensive with PS2s now have Bridgestones. None of them last. Budget to replace every 20,000 miles.
Oil leaks- They all have them. Just have to find them and fix as best you can.
Wish I would have gotten a Fuel Pressure gauge in cockpit where you can see it.
Over the years I have replaced most everything on the suspension just because.
Picked 3 people out that I pretty much trust to keep me safe. Always do a nut and bolt check every 6 months if I need it or not. Header-bolts always check. Put a flexible side bracket on for those side pipes so you don't knock them lose. Anticipate issues by listening to others talk about their cars. I agree about most all cars are just a little different. Always thinking about what to add or delete to make better but money is always a concern. Got to have a money fund for the car as **** happens. Don't forget those Arizona batteries. Throw them away every 2 years or you will be under the car in 150 degrees with your lips swollen and ready to explode off your face i.e. I have a hard top with no glass.
Finally how could I forget after seeing Stewart roll his car. Get the second roll bar. Your wife / girl friend / friend will be protected just in case! It is a must.
