My question has always been... Why do the participants pay to show their cars? That is the main reason I stopped doing car shows.

They have always charged here and the greed is ruining our big show in April. When it first started it was just $20 to enter. Now it is $55. The only time I never had to pay was when they wanted my car up on the stage inside and they let me in free. The ridiculous entry fee is one reason that I quit entering a car and just go look.

I, too, have a real hard time paying to provide an item of interest. However, occasionally I will if it is a fund raising function for a group I deem worthy: a school group, Jr. RTOC, etc. I WILL NOT pay to support a "charity" where ridiculous money goes for "administration".

Joe,
What charity does this go towards?
If I'm in town, I should be able to make it.

We are looking at a charity at Luke AFB to support the families of deployed service men and women, expecaially those that are reservists that arre activated. Most of them go from a 50k income down to 18 or 20k and there are still mouths to feed and a mortgage. ALL PROCEEDS go directly to the charity. We are also trying to look at the financials of the charity to insure that whatever money we donate goes to the families and NOT to administrations costs.

I like the idea of Luke AFB families. Maybe Mikiec would even donate to this......or maybe not.

Sounds like a good charity. If I was there I would attend.

I have to get over to Luke AFB and talk to them about getting someone at the show to represent the charity. One of the ones I am looking at is fighter country that seems to fit all of the criteria that I am looking for. They see to the families, education and medical expenses of men and woman that are deployed on active duty.
