Friday April 1st small lunch run
EDITED:
A couple of us are going to do a run up north for lunch.
We're meeting at 9:30am at the Shell station in Fountain Hills just off the Bee Line.
Heading to Strawberry for lunch.
Anyone else want to join in?

Even though the Flats is on my end of town, I'll pass. The last couple times I was on that road, I thought my car was going to shake apart. No potholes, just ugly nasty pavement. Too bad since its a fun little twisty curvy drive with great scenery.

Thanks Karl, if the road is bad I don't want to deal with it either.
Let's come up with a different lunch plan.
Anyone able to offer up an idea for Friday the 1st?
I'm open to anything while the weather is still good.

Cobra Jim has suggested a run to Sedona.
Maybe we could eat at the Sedona airport???
Lets hear your ideas.
Either way, there will be a run on the 1st, just not sure where it will be.

Sedona would be an excellent run. It would be about 150 miles, each way, for me.
Another option, more miles, less freeway:
Rt 60 Mesa to Superior 50mi
Rt 177 Superior to Winkleman 30mi
Rt 77 Winkleman to Oracle Jct 42mi
Rt 79 Oracle Jct to Florence 45mi
Rt 79 and 60 Florence to Mesa 50 mi
Either route is fine with me as is just about any other idea.

Karl are you available on Friday the 1st.
I figured with a late start like 11:00am you would be able to make it but what about a earlier start.

Just an idea on route: Payson , Strawberry, Camp Verde, Sedona, back way to Cottonwood (turn off before Oak Creek), Jerome and cross country to Mayer and home on 17, Only 1700 miles!

Might have to refuel.
This route is fine with me.

This sounds good, maybe a bit long for some???
If so we could do lunch in Camp Verde, I know there's pretty good food at the casino there.

Being that relatively close, it would be a shame not to go to Jerome. ???

If I were.going to go, I would suggest the Black Bear Diner just below Strawberry. The food is good and the drive is nice...but alas, I have to work so forget everything I said.

Goes without saying but pretty much everybody forgets what you say.

Was that Danr?
What did he say?
Was it something about keeping his car tucked inside his garage?

A run no matter what! Front suspension all done and ready for the road. Going thru withdrawal, not like some in the Northeast.

DWRAT...just fitting my engine back in my car. If it checks out OK it might be a good "break in" run on the motor. Let you know. I like Strawberry and back. Not an all day drive though..

What kind of front end work was done? Just curious, mine is going on a lift Monday because of a "loose, shaky kinda feeling" in the steering wheel.
On the breakfast run to Coolidge about a month ago I stopped a a gas station, thinking I had a flat front tire, but that wasn't it.
