Welcome! So I can spot you on the roads is your Kirkham weighed down with paint or the "lightweight" model?

Mike, welcome and be careful of Karl. He is the Master at Arms for the meetings and also claims to collect the dues... (We ain't got no dues and don't hold any meetings... ) Don't let him fool you.

New Cobra Title & Registration in Arizona

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I recently purchased a new Backdraft Cobra out-of-state. Getting Title and Registration with Historic Plates was rather straightforward at the Scottsdale DMV. I drove the vehicle from my home directly to the Class 1 Inspection Area at the DMV. (I had a 15 day temporary out-of-state license.) The inspection took just a few minutes with the inspector confirming the mileage and the VIN and very little else. I then proceeded to the main office and awaited my turn to meet with a DMV rep. I had an ADOT Title and Registration Application Form filled out (Make-Roadster, Body Style-Convertible, Year-1965, Model- Cobra). (Application Form readily available on the ADOT website). I also had my out-of-state Title (titled as a 1965 Cobra Roadster--an MCO-Manufacturers Certification of Origin--would have also worked), Proof of Insurance, and Final Sales Receipt. I asked for Historic Plates. No questions asked. I did pay for two years registration at a cost of $35.25 per year and I had to pay AZ State Tax as the purchase out-of-state involved no tax payment. All accomplished within a two hour period on a Thursday morning. I hope this helps those seeking Title and Registration in the future

Thanks all for the inputs esp the registration guidance and I look forward to meeting you all. Kind of a stressful day as I am actually out of town (delivery came today instead of yesterday as I had expected) so it was up to my wife and the transport guy to get the car down the (steep, curved) driveway and into the garage without crashing into anything. I will post a pic shortly. Car has a Pond block 482, single 4v, Edelbrock heads with the Craft stage 3 porting and 2.25/1.75 valves. Comp cam 242/248 with (if I remember right) around .667 lift. TKO 600 xmission.

Hi Mike,
Now that you sent your info, you are now officially the New guy. Looking forward. Did your wife drive the Cobra into the garage?

So kind of a stressful experience when I found out the transporter was going to arrive on Wed when I would be traveling. No way to reschedule it. Wife too short to reach the pedals and seat is bolted in. So the transport guy climbed in and steered while my wife pushed (yes that's correct...fortunately she pushed on the jack hooks and not the windshield or wind wings...what a gal!) and the truck driver coasted it down the steep, curved driveway and they maneuvered it around the corner and into the garage. Amazingly nothing got damaged. When I called my wife to see how it went she reminded me that I owe her something expensive! I asked her if there was one key or two and she said "what keys?"...fortunately they were in the ignition. I can only imagine what would have transpired if they had fired it up and drove it in.
