Auto tranny and welded diff are both great for drag racing, but that solid rear diff will make it very unruly on the street (and virtually undriveable on wet pavement)...

But nice that it's a 9-inch rear, so a replacement third member could be sourced to put a more civilized posi-diff into it without breaking the bank.

Assuming the engine is still healthy, this would be a great project starting point for someone who wanted to tear it down and rebuild it into a more streetable car, But this is the LAST car I would recommend to a new potential Cobra owner.

This one has to be seen as a project for a real gear-head (or someone with deep pockets, and no concern about shop labor rates).

price-wise, it seems like a good "middle of the road" deal - if you add up the price of an Everett Morrison kit, a paint job, engine, trans, and misc detail parts, you would probably end up right around this 35,000 point...

I would concur regarding in it's current state it would not be a good road car, especially for a newbie, with that welded rear end. I have a welded rear end in my race car and they can tend to push around corners and can be difficult in the rain as well.

Danr, step away from the koolaide. No way in this world did the old technology crank out 1150 HP on gasoline.

No doubt, the car had sheet loads of power, but the mid-60s didn't have the head, cam, ignition and fuel delivery technology available 40-50 years later.

The C6 should have no problem handling tons of power....as long as there's pretty limited traction, typical of our little roller skates.

As I recall, CSX 3015, the 427 with two 671 paxton blowers was rated at.... OOPs.. only 850 HP.. sorry. and the selling price was $5.1M. That's an even $6000/HP.
