A little vacation DAILY REPORT
We left Phoenix on time and about froze travelling across the desert. Stopped for breakfast in Indio and all agreed that Vicki would not be in charge of picking eating places. Went to Moonshadows in Malibu for lunch. Evening was spent swapping lies and eating pizza by the pool while Scotty made a new friend. Least we forget, Scotty made an international acquaintance.

I like what Party has done with her hair in the previous picture. We were waiting and waiting and waiting for the UHaul guy to bring a car dolly for Al' s broken Cobra. His newly rebuilt, high-dollar AOD tranny lost 3rd and 4th gears. He and Party swore they'd be back to join us, in their ALL. Hope so.

Saw the Castle.uesterday. What a place. Tapestries on the wall worth more than my house. Karl broke.an alternator.and found a hose that was about to fail. Got those fixed. Al and Patti made.back last nite at about 8:30. Must be some kind of land speed record.
Today is off to Big Sur, Carmel and Monterey. More.to report later. More photos also.

Karl broke an alternator? Isn't that like the one Chevy part on the whole car? :)

Maybe someone, 'way less than 6' tall, should take a refresher course in alternator replacement,101, rather than worry about pictures?

I'll have you know that the alternator replacement technique is outstanding. The wire attachment could use a refresher though.

That stinks Dan! Perils of a road trip. You just never know. After 10 long trips I have a list of common failure items to bring but does not include transmission, alternator or master cylinder.

Karl, it is easier to change when you are a little shorter.
Dan you will get it fixed and catch up to them very quickly.
I would have been on the trip with you guys if Ms Ginny didn't have other plans.

Man, these pictures are a bust! I thought a California cruise would be cool. I can see a UHaul parking lot right here in PHX, and a guy changing an alternator - you can see that at any Autozone any day. I sure wish you guys were seeing great roads or beautiful scenery...
MikieC - shown them some shots of the Kanc or the Mount Washington Hotel. Even a picture of Winnepesaukee would be nice. :-)
