No-Fly Zone rolling 1/2 mile racing
Planning on attending the No-Fly Zone Rolling 1/2 mile racing event on Sunday, October 9th at the Gila Bend Airport.
Omega Motorsport Events Not going to run ($200.) Just to watch and think about running another day. Not with the Cobra. Entry is $10 per person. Probably park in dirt or gravel so don't bring your cobra. We could meet outside and park together perhaps. Saturday is sold out for participants and Sunday allows motorcycles also. Should be interesting. Bring chairs and food & drink if you wish. Also bring video camera and binoculars. Anyone interested? I have a radar gun if we are close enough. AZ Bob |
I'm thinking I need to go. Not at all surprised that "Mr. Gadget" has a radar gun. I should have bought one, when PEP had them for about $80. Don't know why I didnt.

Oh no, Karl wants to challenge Bob for toy and gadget rights... LOL LOL

Is this at Gila Bend airport just as you enter the town, or at the Air Force Base?
|
Gary, it's at the Gila Bend Municipal Airport just as you enter Gila Bend from the north on Maricopa Road

Has anyone done any events like this with a Cobra?
|
Do not know Buddy but judging by my car, lift off would be around 165mph, so not me.
My gearing says I can go 190mph in 5th but not with me in it! Would not consider the cobra but I'm sure it would be a big hit with the crowd. AZ Bob |
