Arizona Cobras Anniversary Party Date Change
The Arizona Cobras Anniversary Party planned for December 3rd has been changed to Sunday, November 20th. Unfortunately, the Bondurant School is planning to be closed that weekend, and would not be able to accommodate us (unless we pay the $2,500. minimum fee for staff) Of course, the time will still be 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and we will have the Bondurant Museum and lunch room available.
We will still have our traditional Food Buffet on tables, the Phoenix Children's Hospital gifts/Donations, and Yankee swap. An alternative to bringing toys and wagons to the Anniversary party is to bring them to the PCH December 10th, which is their Toy Drive Hospital Kick Off event. I apologize for any inconvenience this may bring to some. I had no other choice, and wanted to keep the famous venue available to us. I want to thank Bob Bondurant, his wife Pat, and the Group Sales manager, Brenan, for helping me make this wonderful event possible. I also appreciate Bob Broberg for his help with the new changes. |
Please help get the word out. I have posted on Facebook and asked Paul to update the flyer and send out. I will inform PCH. We now have access to the Bondurant Museum also.
This is the ONLY date we were offered for free after the Dec 3rd weekend closing announcement. Alternate toy/wagon drop off locations are Dr Bruce Nelson Office and the Brown's Classic Auto new location. Thank Bill Godwin for all the phone calls, e-mails and stress he participated in to get this nailed down with a commitment. The location means everything and Mike Canning has been informed. Thank You AZ Bob |
I hope everyone will still plan on attending this fabulous event that Bill and Bob are putting together. Due to the date change, I will not be able to make it. Color me sad.
:CRY::CRY::CRY::CRY: Make this a good one gang. Mikiec |
Are the Bondurants going to make it to the party?

Ginny Canning is asking (on Facebook) if anyone is interested in getting together with her and Mikie on December 3rd when they are here. Bob Broberg says that this is a better forum for discussing that.
I have a question about the Anniversary event. Are we bringing our own food or doing a potluck table? It sort of sounds like we're doing both. Ron |

We are doing a Potluck Table as in previous years.
Only the venue has changed. |
Finally a party I can attend. Looking forward to this one. Sorry Mike and Ginny aren't going to make it it will be fun I'm sure. And a bonus if Bob and Pat are there.
|
I will be there and looking forward to it.
|
I'll plan to be there....

Jeff, as I said earlier, I have nothing to do with the food. Bring what you prefer. No one has stepped up to direct the food yet. I simply promote the event to help Bill who is in charge.

OK, thanks. With the other changes I hoped it changed too. Maybe a dinner of BBQ sandwich and a side is in my future.
|
I'm going to need help with preparing the Potluck and looking for a volunteer.
So far, it's bring your own drinks and main dish or dessert to share with others. Also need forks, napkins, etc. Tables and trash containers will be provided. Thank you! |
Bill, I've got paper plates, utensils, table cloths, napkins from the picnic I'll bring.

As in the past bring a dish to share with 15 people.
It should take care of itself. That's all Ginny and I did. Well, actually Ginny and I would usually supply a large ham sliced plus all the paper plates and utensils, trash bags, ice, water, maybe a cake and table cloths for the buffet table. Also, chaffing dishes, sterno etc. Everyone else would bring a side dish, dessert or something in a crock pot. usually chili or pulled pork. Joanne, Carolyn and Diana would get everything setup and then tell me what else was needed from the store. I am not sure what was done since our departure. Mike |
Just a thought and would like feedback of those who wish to hear more. Like Mikie just listed below it takes a lot of effort and it isn't cheap to feed this crew. By the time you consider what Mike and Ginny laid out on top of others bringing a dish that feeds 15 folks you have spent enough to cater a nice lunch.
I called a BBQ joint that I have enjoyed the food from 3 or 4 times just to get an idea of cost. In very round numbers it costs $12 to $15 per head for adult portions of BBQ sandwich, mac & cheese, salad and corn. The place is called Bobby Q's on I17 south of Dunlap. There are of course other places and menus. I spend more to bringing a dish for the gang and have to cook then do dishes. $15 bucks was a high side rough number but without specifics and a head count? |
Time is getting short. I like the idea if it works with Bondurant and Co. I would.support the option.
|
Getting an accurate head count would be a real trick. Pretty hard to get some people to commit.
