Default Gainey Saturday

I think I will go over to Gainey this Saturday and join the beautiful people/cars of Scottsdale. Anyone else going to be there?

I didn't know about that one - guess I wasn't paying attention. Looks like a good one and benefits Sunshine Acres.

Well it was kind of a bust. I got there at just after 6:30 and it was already totally jammed. Only places to park were way down at the south end of the parking lot. Folks must have been there before 6:00. So after driving around the lot and deciding I didn't want to leave my car way down there when I wandered off to see the other cars I left. Came home and am putting sealant on my roof

Anyone going over to 83rd avenue tonight?

PMike, The times I've gone to Gainey, I got there no later than 5:45, and was certainly not the first one there, by a long shot. I didn't make it today since I'd just gotten home from SEMA, last night, and needed to recuperate. (it was worth it)

Isn't it supposed to be over at 11:00?

I'm sure it was. The point is gotta get there a lot earlier than 6:30... Unless you just want to cruise the parking lot and maybe do a smoking burnout on your way out in which case 6:30 is just right.

P.Mike, had a good time at SEMA and the APPEX show. Saw a few people I used to work with, saw lots of "spokes-model" pretty girls, lots of outstanding cars and products. The one entire floor at APPEX was entirely Asian, with the majority from China.
Was a little disappointed, but also relieved with the new FFR Daytona Coupe. Definitely a nice car with lots of great improvements, but still 'way too difficult for me to be crawling in and out of. I've always wanted one but maybe 30 years ago, when I couldn't afford it, I could have been flexible enough to get in and out.
I'd strongly urge anyone that is a car person to figure out a way to go to the show. Just know that it's huge, crowded, and overwhelming. Legs and feet take a beating but its so well worth it, to me.
The most interesting thing, for me, was getting to compare the original GT40, that won the '66 Le Mans with the GT that won this year. The new one is a whole lot bigger than the original and it was presented just as it had come off the track. Broken body, tire crud, and all. What a car!

Wish I could figure out a way to get into SEMA, sounds like a very interesting place to walk around.

Keith, we have many members that can get you a ticket. Jeff, Karl and Bill Bryan to start. I went there with Bill in 2011 and I still get emails to buy tickets.

Heck, I thought you had to be a member of the secret SEMA Society and know the secret pass code and hand shake!
