'Frozen Butt Award'

OK all you Iron Butt winners, the last two mornings I've taken the Cobra to the gym (at 5:45am) rather than scrape the ice off the Hyundai's windshield.

I have been driving my car in the cold lately also. I let my son chose which car I drive him to school in. So far, it has been the Cobra every time. I warm the car up and he pulls his knit cap over his face. The fun part is going through the school drop off area in a Cobra. For some odd reason, it gets noticed.

I believe anyone who went across the desert on the early morning run to California can identify with your issues. Someone had the crazy idea we should leave at 0500 to avoid the hot desert. There was no hot desert to avoid. It was in the mid forties or something like that. Nearly froze my yaahaas off.

One of my favorite things about having the car was getting to drive the kids to and from school from time to time.

Our own Karl Bebout drove to Padre Murphy's last night. 50+ miles each way with 2 hours of traffic in cold weather. What an Iron Butt!! Or perhaps just Butt?

Yeah Karl - being someone's 'Butt Buddy' is probably not a fit topic for this group. On the other hand, you might make some new friends...

Fill out form 427SC to get double your sarcasm back. Everything else is non-refundable.

Well this went to hell fast... :D

OK, did any of this driving include temps in the mid teens? Last winter when it was sunny and the roads were dry, 2290 was out. I will be taking it out when I get back on Jan 1st.

I am taking mine on a state police escorted toy drive this Sunday morning as I do every year!! It's going to be in the 25 degree range, and I could not be more excited!!

Antny 12-01-2016 04:58 AM

I put my ragtop on and have been driving mine each Sunday morning to our local testosterone gathering. Temps in the low 30's. Heater works great, gloves are required though. I'm such a weenie.

You guys have inspired me.. I'm thinking about driving mine to the office this morning...

That's assuming it starts, and that there aren't any parts hanging off it, of course...

mikiec 12-01-2016 08:34 AM

Top, don't need no stinking top in NH.

Mama Mia! ... That was a cold 45 minute drive. **)

I learned another thing about my car this morning- It is just as cranky, and fussy about waking up on 35 degree mornings, as my wife is. ;)

When I finally got the choke set where it would hold an idle (after 4 restarts, haha) those solid lifters were chattering around in there like popcorn popping...

I think it was finally all warmed up, and running "normally" about 20 minutes later (halfway through my 20 mile drive)

I got to work just as the footboxes were finally getting warm enough to thaw out my feet

I loved every minute of it.:cool::cool:

There was some other crazy fool on the freeway in a convertible MustangGT... as we sat next to each other in traffic, we just exchanged that casual glance that simply stated: "Yes, we are both morons..." :p
