Looks interesting. Should/can we bring the cobras and will there be a place for us to park them, or are the cars to be shown from the museum etc?

Mike, by all means, bring your Cobra. We can try to add a little class to place. ha Pretty sure the Ferrari Club is involved so we should show the kids what can be much more realistic and driveable, rather than just trailer queens.

Sounds good - esp if there are a bunch of Ferraris there - we need some Cobras there to give the kids hope.

NYFAIM right?

65, "That's all you need a bunch of kids wanting to touch your car."

I prefer to drive my car so lots of bugs and gravel "touch" my car so I'll not get too obsessive if someone is actually audacious enough lay a finger on my car. Now, some bubble-bellied, huge belt-buckled cow-poke, leaning over my fender, would be a different matter.

I don't mind the kids touching it - I have lots of windex and it's just metal.

Here's more about the Hagerty Driving Experience going on at this event:

Quote:
Greetings Classic Car Owners,

The Hagerty Driving Experience is a program launched by Hagerty in 2011 to teach young drivers to operate manual transmission vehicles and to ignite a passion for classics. Since that time, Hagerty has hosted 24 events throughout the U.S. and Canada teaching more than 900 young drivers the skill of operating a manual transmission vehicle and introducing them to the joy and excitement of the classic car hobby. Our milestone 25th Hagerty Driving Experience will be hosted in conjunction with the Arizona Concours d'Elegance 'NextGen Auto Fest' on Saturday, January 14th.

We couldn't have done it without friends like you! We are looking for enthusiastic car owners interested in helping teach young drivers the skill of driving a manual using cool, classic cars.

If you have a manual transmission classic and would like to join us to help fuel the future of the classic car community, please contact Rachel Flynn at rflynn@hagerty.com or 231.313.1447.

Program basics:

Conducted on a closed driving course with approximately 40 students
Focuses on clutch operation and teaching the unique ins-and-outs of classic cars
Program is free of charge
Two sessions: 9 a.m. – Noon and 1 – 4 p.m.

Additionally, for students interested in participating, registration is now open at www.Hagerty.com/DrivingExperience. Open to driver's ages 15 to 25 with a valid permit or driver's license. Sign up soon as space is limited and pre-registration is required.

This is an opportunity you won't want to miss!

Happy Motoring!

Ok. Who's next. This should be fun to watch. A bunch of kids learning how to drive stick shift in a 600hp cobra. Please video tape it and post. Lol.

I will go without any reservation. We can meet at my house and go as a group if you want. It will take all of 2 minutes to get there from my house. As you recall Karl, close to Defalco's.

Greg, sounds like a plan. Wanna PM me your address?

65, I might be stark bonkers enough to not spaz out if someone actually touchs my car, but I'll not be letting someone I don't know and trust drive my car. Maybe someone has a Yugo, Maverick, Pinto or Rambler the kids could learn how to drive a stick shift.

I had photos taken of my car with a model. They asked me if she could touch the car. I told her yes, but only thing to touch my car is "skin".

Lee, I am very surprised you talk like that!
The only thing I can think of is, that your wife was not at the photo shoot and that you password-protected this Club Cobra account so she can't read what you post here.
