Ralphie, me, Bill, Dave, Scottie (I think), maybe Danr (never can tell). I guess we'll know who all, when we see the whites of their eyes.

OK, Karl, but if we happen to get stopped in Maricopa (my town), don't mention my name thinking you're gonna get a break, instead we'll be in big Kimchi!
Ralph, who hates being in Big Kimchi!

After we passed the turnoff to I8, I headed straight home up 85 and over I10. Good burger in Ajo.

Great run today and great burger in Ajo. Sorry Kieth. A bunch of selfish folk. Another pic today.

Woo ... I made it home.
I only had to make two more stops after the Border Patrol checkpoint (Thanks Ralphie, for hangin' back with me )
I guess tomorrow I'll be taking the secondary bowl off my carb to see what's goin on inside there... will probably install an adjustable pressure regulator, as well.
Still a fun day - what about that weather..? Perfecto.

Too busy driving, smiling, and enjoying the near perfect day. Sorry Keith.
Eight cars showed up: Dan and Adriana, Scottie, Ralphie, RB, Mesa Dave, Superstition Bill (believe it or not), Dr. Duc, and me. RB's carb gave him some stattic, but otherwise, pretty flawless day. I'd take a wild guess and say we probably had more fun than people that sat around at a little car show. Hmmm?

RB, time for a new float, needle and seat? Also, get that fuel pressure down to 7-7 1/2#.

Dammit, Robert, I told you I have a rebuilt 750 Holley DB for $200 bucks.
I would have given it to you just to get away from the border cops this afternoon.
You have to be the slowest mechanic in the world, I watched you walk around your car about a dozen times after you got her started, then get in and another 10 minutes to put on your belt and ear plugs, TWICE!
Sorry for yelling at you, after the 3rd time when you wanted to do it all over again.
I learned from the service, you never leave a buddy behind! But Robert, I almost broke that rule today!
Ralphie, who never leaves a buddy behind! (except, Robert the next time! )

Wish I had been out with you guys or the car show guys today. Too much working and not enough cobra fun lately. Get that regulator sorted out Robert we don't need you catching fire. Damn the weather was perfect too...

HAHA...! You're a good sport Ralphie.
I'm only slow (more accurately "careful" and "deliberate" when I'm dealing with gasoline, and a hot engine
At least you weren't waiting on Karl - That guy can take half an hour to get moving.
The 750 carb is just too big for my teeny little engine. I need a 600. But I did appreciate your offer.
I'm heading out to the garage right now-
In 30 minutes, that carb is going to be scattered across my workbench like a jigsaw puzzle...

Good luck Robert. Don't leave out any of the little pieces! I did find time yesterday to get my plug wires re-routed so they weren't laying on the intake and to change the oil. Would have rather been driving.

I think my carb issue is all worked out... My secondary float had a tiny little pin hole in the seam right above where the float is soldered to the arm, and the float had gas in it.
So I dried it out, re-soldered the seam over the hole, and kept the float submerged in a pan of water overnight. This morning it popped right to the surface of the water, so I put it all back together, adjusted the float level, and hopefully that will be the end of that...
I'm still going to get that regulator from Scott, and set my pressure down around 7-ish psi, where I prefer it to be...

Robert,
If you still have trouble, order a Holly 570 Street Avenger. No troubles in 9 years so far, and I get over 22 MPH on long distance runs.

haha - I thought about it yesterday, Scottie. I was just about to go online and order a vacuum secondary carb, and just toss this double pumper onto the spare parts shelf...
and I still might.
