What a CRAPPY Day!
Darn near, worst day , ever! Was a pitiful 63° when I walked the Big Dog at 6:30, this morning. I was at a conundrum. Shall I sit on my couch and piddle the day away? Shall I go out to the garage and admire my Cobra? May dust it off? Maybe wax it...again?
Ah hell with it. Suited up. Put my darkest shades on and took a drive. Went to Wickenburg, then Yarnell, then Prescott, then Jerome, then Sedona, then headed for home. 9 hours and 362 miles later, I pulled back into the garage. The car had dust on it, some Kamikaze bugs, and probably some more road rash. Christ, what have I done? |
You seized the day! Congratulations on LIVING today to the fullest! And remember that road rash is a badge of honor among those who actually drive their cars!

Karlos I feel your pain. I had to set my alarm clock last night so I could get up early enough to pick my daughter up and cruise to the Malibu Cars and Coffee. Went out for breakfast, then off for a leisurely run through the Santa Monica Mountains. Played chase with a Porsche. A miserable 80 degrees and a little windy. Home by 11:00am. I wouldn't trade it for anything.

Darn, now I feel left out. We have had nothing but lousy weather here for the last couple of weeks. Some light rain, lots of heavy mist, a little wind, and just a little to wet and cold to enjoy driving the cars.

Forgot to mention that fortunately, I'd dressed in layers. Was a bit nipply as I gained altitude to 6000' elevation but the roads were clear and dry, the snow in shady spots made me look for non-existent run-off, did not see any LOE's until I was heading home on I17. I'd peeled off the leather coat, after a leisurely lunch in Prescott and was down to a tee shirt for the last 100 miles. According to Accuweather, it had gotten to 83° in Mesa and was a sweet 78° when I pulled into the garage at 5:15.
The day was SOOOOO much better than any excuses I could have come up with for not doing it. I WANNA DRIVE!! |
Congrats for a super day. I am hiding from the cedar pollen here in Austin. We need rain bad.

It's still too cold here in PA. |
Pretty nice here in Vegas too. This is the time of year we wait for.

You Arizona guys are killing me! I had mine out Friday night after work (44 degrees)and Saturday afternoon a balmy 50 something. Fun none the less!

Hey Mikie, Hear that.. Karl was out driving his Cobra.. Imagine that. I guess having a snow blower in New Hampshire is pretty much the same as having a Cobra in Arizona. Doesn't get used much during the high summer months.. Ah well. We miss ya.. Just thought I'd throw that in there so you'd know you weren't forgotten..:LOL::cool:
